@ShirishMM Agreed. Tricky balance to strike, and doesn't just apply to the arts. The same arguments apply to Senedd expansion. Unless you build pathways, people will always be locked out. But there has definitely been a culture of celebrating boxes ticked even when shows have been rubbish!

@_DylanMoore Lots to love in this. Don’t agree with the implication that participation and excellence are binary and in opposition to each other though. We should be thinking of wider participation as a route to greater excellence. Otherwise only a few have access to “professionalism”.
