A crewed Venus flyby a la Apollo Applications is like, fairly feasible using Artemis hardware. Honestly I think it'd be a fair step up in ambition after the base is built up.

@Aidendonut @conspiracyslyr @mcrs987 Not changing the tune every 4 to 8 years, not canceling and/or crippling programs does a lot more than just funding. They plan decades ahead and stick to it.

@NASAAdmin @NASARoman @NASA @NASAGoddard @NASAUniverse @NASAScience_ If its such a great mission that was AHEAD of schedule and UNDER budget why did the white house you represent try multiple times to cancel it? The arson to NASA science that is ongoing is happening under your watch and you're supporting it...that will be your legacy

NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman
The Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope is in final preparations for an early September launch, eight months AHEAD of schedule and UNDER budget. This milestone is the result of more than a decade of dedication and millions of hours of work by NASA and our industry partners. Their commitment is what’s making this moment possible and helping drive Gold Standard Science. Roman will help answer some of the biggest questions in science, investigating dark matter, dark energy, and the structure of the universe. Its images will be so large and detailed, there isn’t a screen in existence big enough to display them. This is just the beginning.

@HYeahBrother @PebMet1 @elonmusk Dead wrong as I said before, everything is connected, maybe you realize it once the program either gets canceled or derailed and delayed for a while until it gets back on track with projects that were foolishly and naively discarded, unless it is reversed before it's too late.

This is a fact. If we listened to all of the @elonmusk and starship supporters who said we should scrap SLS and Orion for Starship, we would still be waiting for a mission to the moon instead of the 2 which have already successfully completed.

@HYeahBrother @PebMet1 @elonmusk I see you completely missed the entire point of what I said. Maybe you won't once you see what this haphazard plan does to the program.

@_FrankyPi @PebMet1 @elonmusk The program already relies on not using SLS for creating free base, supplying it, and doing crew rotations at a healthy rate. SLS is worse than pointless

@rogerhere @elvaca_lao @brianorca @BrewerSan @ShorealoneFilms They did try a very similar design in both material and construction as Apollo back in 2014 for Orion's first test flight EFT-1, they discovered it was flexing too much as Orion is a lot bigger, and manufacturing process was extremely tedious, so they switched to block design.

@KenKirtland17 @DrChrisCombs Obviously since even Shuttle with TDRSS in geosync had datastream, while all of the crewed capsules have blackouts.

@DrChrisCombs From what I understand it is not speed it is just a scale thing. Big enough to have a gap in the wake right?

@HYeahBrother @PebMet1 @elonmusk You can't have a base without astronauts and without all the infrastructure that is needed to support these long duration activities in orbit. Removing Gateway and crippling SLS is asinine and unless it's reversed, it will backfire massively, even risking cancelation of Artemis.

@viciykevin @HunsakerMiles @DJSnM @SpaceX @blueorigin @Axiom_Space Also, enacting last year's PBR for HSF, canceling EUS, ML-2 and Gateway, thinking that the new, inferior stage will be ready in record time, which if it's even doable will take more funding than EUS and ML-2 combined, most of which is already spent, would be highly hypocritical.

@HunsakerMiles @_FrankyPi @DJSnM @SpaceX @blueorigin @Axiom_Space Supporting the DOGE-lite destruction of NASA Science by cancelling productive missions because the admin is anti-climate science and cutting NASA budgets when NASA generates more value than what is put in compared to other agencies is fumbling his role as an ambassador of NASA

@viciykevin @ManaByte Artemis 3 isn’t a moon landing mission though so we won’t need the suits. We’d just need the lander. I think Blue Origin is working on a lander, though.

@HunsakerMiles @DJSnM @SpaceX @blueorigin @Axiom_Space Exceptional at going along with OMB/DOGE ruining the agency yes. I guess you're going to realize what is being done once the results of all these actions come to fruition in the exact opposite way of what you expected and what they sold as something positive instead of damaging.

@PebMet1 @elonmusk Boots and flags on the moon is mostly pointless. We need a base and to be bootstrapping lunar industry. SLS does not facilitate this.

Kann mir das Jemand erklären? Laut NASA-Anhänger ist diese Aufnahme unmöglich. Wir reden über eine Kapsel mit 5 Meter Durchmesser. Bin gespannt.

@Kinghogel Satellites are seen from ISS when they catch their glint in sunlight, in the same way they're seen from Earth's surface, it's happening more often since SpaceX dramatically increased the number of total active satellites in LEO, most of which are now their Starlinks. Look it up.
