@_N9GO Indeed. It's not the (operator behavior on the) linear birds I'm wondering about, but rather the FM birds.

I've not been active on FM sats for quite some time. (Yeah, I know. The same could be said for the linear sats, but that's for another post). As such, a question: have we learned to improve our operating standards, or is it the same zoo just on the newer birds?

History in the making In this new image from our @NASAArtemis II crew, you can see Orientale basin on the right edge of the lunar disk. This mission marks the first time the entire basin has been seen with human eyes.

We see our home planet as a whole, lit up in spectacular blues and browns. A green aurora even lights up the atmosphere. That's us, together, watching as our astronauts make their journey to the Moon.

The Artemis II crew are not strangers to amateur radio. 3 licensed hams are making the journey to the moon, 2 of those in the ARISS log with STEM contacts from the ISS. No ham radios are making this trip, but we're hopeful for the future. Safe travels to the entire crew!

@ve7sl @HamRadioDX I think my only argument for RTTY and against FT8 is at least you're actively typing while transmitting and having a text conversation. Though they're one in the same, its all digital. Doesn't really matter, it's still a valid QSO.

@HamRadioDX I guess anybody making an RTTY contact in the past 50 years has not made a ‘real’ QSO either? Mind-numbing logic.

SAD Ham Alert! Don’t mention FT8 - it’s apparently not a legit mode for contacts… 😂 They get stirred up so easily… old mates a bit butt hurt about it though..
