If the US or Israel were to use nuclear weapons against a country without nuclear weapons - Iran, it would remove the threshold that currently restrains nuclear use. This could make it easier for Russia to justify using nuclear weapons in Ukraine, erasing that red line. In turn, this erosion of restraint could extend to other nuclear powers - China, India, Pakistan, and North Korea - lowering the barrier to nuclear use in their own direct military conflicts.

Donald Trump has been a national politician for a decade. Anyone still reacting to the guy’s negotiating tactics and hyperbole with this sort of hysteria ten years in should be disqualified from political commentary.
If he nukes Tehran at 8pm, I’ll admit I’m the crazy one.
When he doesn’t, this crew will admit nothing and find some other comment to be scandalized by.

Trump believes he is threatening Iran with destruction, but it is America that now stands in danger.
If he attempts to eradicate Iranian civilization, the United States will no longer be viewed as a stabilizing force in the world, but as an agent of chaos—effectively ending our status as the world’s greatest superpower.
This would upend our economy and shatter the global order. The process is already underway, yet we still have time to avert catastrophe if Trump finds the courage to pursue serious negotiations rather than reckless rage and destruction.

I don’t buy this was an accident.
If the bridge had fallen into the water and shut down the canal, it would have a massive impact on the American supply chains.

🚨🇵🇦 HUGE... A tanker just exploded under the most important bridge in global trade A fuel tanker detonated at the Balboa tank park directly beneath the Bridge of the Americas in Panama City. The bridge was shut down while engineers assessed whether the heat compromised the structure. Firefighters suffered severe injuries. The fire spread to multiple storage units. This was almost certainly an accident. But even as an accident, it exposed something terrifying. If that bridge collapses, it physically blocks the Pacific entrance to the Panama Canal. 40% of U.S. container traffic travels through this canal. The instant it closes, Asian cargo can't reach East Coast ports. Los Angeles and Long Beach get overwhelmed. Rail and trucking networks can't absorb a 30-40% spike in transcontinental freight overnight. Store shelves go empty. The backup routes make it worse. Suez is a warzone approach. Cape Horn and the Cape of Good Hope add two weeks to every voyage. And because Hormuz has spiked fuel prices past $112 a barrel, every extra mile of rerouting costs exponentially more in bunker fuel that shipping companies pass directly to consumers. Panama plus Hormuz simultaneously offline is the scenario that breaks the global economy. Not gradually. Violently. Every physical good on earth gets repriced overnight. Today it was an accident that was contained. The bridge held. The canal stayed open. The darker question is one nobody wants to ask out loud: in a world where Iran just published target lists of Gulf bridges and infrastructure, what if the next explosion near a critical chokepoint isn't an accident? 🤔😱😨I just heard something that left my head spinning:
China has outmaneuvered the US and seized effective control over the Strait of Hormuz.
If true, it explains why direct military action against Iran won’t reopen the strait, why the Trump team is stuck, how the IRGC retains dominance despite its shattered power and navy, and why some nations are so desperate to cut deals. China was prepared for such interruption, others were not.
I am dealing with this as a rumor for now.

This is disgusting. He talks about bombing other countries with no remorse and no thought for the civilians who will be caught in the crossfire.
This is a moral issue. We cannot allow Trump to continue this war in Iran. Congress must pass the War Powers Resolution immediately.

Spoke with President Trump. He told me the conflict should be over in days, not weeks but if no deal is made he’s blowing up the whole country with “very little” off the table. "If happens, it happens. And if it doesn't, we're blowing up the whole country,” he said. I asked if there’s anything off limits. “Very little,” he said.
