@CodyBlacksheep Actually, I wasn't speaking of labourers, I was really speaking about Tradesmen, Masons Contracted to lay blocks, I personally know several of them that does this for a living, It also depends on where the work is being done,Uptown, downtown Portmore etc.

@_kajima__ lol I’ve owned a construction company for 10 years. There’s nobody paying those rates for laying blocks. If they’re actually building then they get a project rate which they pay a labour team under them unless u pay the labourers and subtract that from their own pay.

Holness told contractors to “invest in yourselves” at a groundbreaking: built by a Chinese company. Where is the investment in the skilled workforce we need to compete? My company is building in St Mary. The erosion is real. Fix the pipeline before you blame the contractors.

@JAForJustice The JFJ pointed out that last year 2025 the number of police killings stood at 311,The highest in over 15 years, What they failed to point out,Was that in 2025 the murder rate was half of what it was 15 years ago, That figure being 1499, Last year it was over 700.

111 people killed by security forces in just 116 days. That’s 5 more than the same period last year. 2025 ended with 311 fatalities — the highest total in nearly 15 years. When planned operations make up 50% of these deaths, the question remains loud and clear: Where are the body-worn cameras in these operations? Transparency cannot be optional. BWCs protect both officers and citizens.

@CodyBlacksheep It's quite obvious that you are ignorant about the topic you're trying to speak on, Suggesting that trades not paying competitive, You what is the market rate for laying 100 concrete blocks? Anywhere from 20 to 30 thousand dollars or more, A mason can lay up to 300 blocks per day

@_kajima__ Agreed, free access is a good step. But enrollment today doesn’t solve my labour shortage tomorrow. And if trades paid competitively and had proper career progression, you wouldn’t need to make it free to attract people. The pipeline problem starts before HEART and ends after it.

Civil society is raising serious concerns about the NaRRA Bill currently before Parliament. 28 organisations and individuals have flagged major gaps in transparency, accountability, and public participation. We are calling for meaningful engagement: ✔️ A genuine multi-stakeholder dialogue ✔️ Acceptance of written submissions within 2 weeks ✔️ Structured discussions to address key concerns If this does not happen, a time-bound Joint Select Committee is needed. Yes, Jamaica must act quickly to rebuild after Hurricane Melissa — but speed cannot come at the expense of good governance, environmental protection, and public trust. This legislation will shape our future. It must be done right.

@JamaicaGleaner Wonder if Las May would put out a cartoon, depicting the expression on the worker's faces, After being told that they have to wait another extra week to get their month end salaries.

@darnells_j This is nothing compared to what went on there during the eighteen and a half years of then PNP administration, The AG found that millions of dollars were paid out by NSWMA for delivery of garbage to the dump by trucks, The AG found that the plates were for, BENZ, PRADOS,PAJEROS

@likle_wiked @JamaicaGleaner @HoraceChangJM Don't be fooled, Those footages are edited to give a movie like effect, Saw what happened the other day with that botched rescue, What happens in Hollywood is not necessarily what happens in reality.

@JamaicaGleaner Clearly Dr @HoraceChangJM has never seen footage from BWCs worn by the very elite Seal Team 6 on their "planned operations". Or, let us just conclude, Dr Chang by his logic is totally against accountability and transparency. #TalkTheTruth

Dr Chang will go down in history as the security minister that presides over the most extra-judicial killings by police. That will be a major blow for him. I can't recall seeing this type of police killings in my lifetime in JA . With all of this, he wants no cameras worn on opr

Respectfully, Minister — but I must disagree. This is a highly effective approach. It is crucial for law enforcement officers to use BC during all field operations. Furthermore, this statement only deepens the distrust between citizens and the police. Why such resistance? 🤦🏾

National security minister, Dr. Horace Chang, has moved to dismiss calls for lawmen to use body worn cameras in high-risk operations. Dr. Chang was speaking during Wednesday's post-cabinet media briefing at Jamaica House. READ MORE HERE: revonews.ai/news/chang-dis…
