@nathanmarz Modern tools don't run the full suite against each mutant, instead they target the tests using standard line/block/statement coverage. A talk I used to give shows how pitest (tool for Java) reduces 3 *day* analysis times from tools like Jester down to 3 minutes.

Mutation testing is an interesting way to test a test suite, finding the chance the tests fail if a random part of the codebase is modified. Though it seems like it's not practical for big projects since running the full test suite for each sample may be very expensive. techtarget.com/searchitoperat…

Friends, do you use mutation testing with your Java apps? I want to write an article, but need understand the relevance first 🙃

Tangent Online bitched about the chess moves I used in "The Immortal Game", apparent not realising that I used the exact moves made (up until the point things get gruesome in story) by real masters (Topalov and Kasparov, 1999). It's ranked as the #1 chess game of all time 🤣
