That a student’s study permit is expiring doesn't mean they have to automatically leave Canada, or mean that they are even still in Canada. This is guided by the provisions of the immigration law. Some who have expiring study permits and are graduating will apply for PGWP and become eligible to stay. Some are applying or have applied for PR directly on a study permit. Some whose study permits are expiring and have not completed their program will apply for a study permit extension and that qualifies them to continue to stay too. For some, their study permits are expiring because they are completing a program, but plan to do another program, so they will also apply for a study permit extension and become eligible to stay. Some will apply for visitor record to continue to stay (if they are not applying for a PGWP, or study permit extension, or PR, or other work permits, etc). Some with a valid study permit are not even in Canada anymore. Some left their studies midway and went back home. Some moved to other countries. On and on like that. Similar situations are applicable to other types of work permit holders. As long as they apply for another legal status, they continually become eligible to stay and don’t need to simply leave the country. So, yes, it may difficult to say how many will leave, except IRCC knows everyone’s next move (which is practically impossible). The more nuanced and contextual question would have been to know what will happen if someone’s permit is expiring or has expired and they are not applying for another valid status. And won’t do so within the 90 days restoration period provided for in the immigration law. What is IRCC’s / CBSA’s removal enforcement plan on this? How many of such individuals (who are now out of valid status) are removed or will be removed every year? How are they tracking those out of status? How does this add to the growing number of asylum claims? And what are the plans to ensure those out of valid status or potential out of valid status individuals are not abusing the asylum claims process or adding to the number of undocumented individuals in Canada? These are some of the questions to consider sir, MP @tomkmiec.

The way the Naira is fighting back against the dollar needs to be studied. I have never, since I was born, seen the Naira fight back this way. I wanted to buy stocks a few days ago on the Bamboo app. And I needed to credit my dollar account via the bamboo app. I saw the dollar traded on the app at 1250. I kid you not. On second thought, I said let me wait a few days to see if it will go down. This happened just three days ago. Only for me to open the app this morning, and lo and behold, it's now 1,159 to a dollar. Whaaaaat! I don't know if I should wait a little further or just buy at this rate. To be honest, I applaud the federal government for this.. Cardi B you deserve one full cow mehn. Some are even saying it's sold at 1k right now in the black market..
