and I guess now the plan is to turn this place into Fox News 2.0??? Saddest/lamest possible twist. A lot of people wrote their twitter eulogy early, but I don’t think they were all wrong. It doesn’t matter that the lights are still on, feels like no one is home.

On the now relatively rare occasion I decide to log on here, it’s just so clear the party has moved on. A couple years ago the succession finale woulda been 4x bigger on here than it was last weekend. Feels like basketball is keeping it on life support and that’s almost over.

I generally refrain from doing AI takes bc absolutely no one needs to hear another one… But I would like to say: - too much worry (or excitement) about how good AI will get - not enough consideration for how willing most people are to settle for mediocrity (in all things)
