In August when the Bangalore league filled with internationals and the IWL happened, 2 players stood out. Sanfida Nongrum scored 14, the one who scored the highest - 17 wasn't even picked. Spare a thought for Kajol D'Souza today.

Manisha Kalyan is India's best baller on the pitch & Sanfida is next. India were good in patches. In the initial phase, they created transitions after winning the second ball & via duels. After that phase, Taiwan were the better team & managed to open India up from all areas.

Painful truth time: Of the 12 teams at this Asian Cup, India have been the team most uncomfortable with the ball at their feet. Even Iran, who went up against giants Australia, had a go at attacking their more illustrious opponents. Technique is the foundation, the beginning.

'First compete, then ask for support.' Fair ask but why is it only limited to one gender though? When the men play, you watch, you criticise, you vent out your frustration - all fair but you watch, period. Entitlement and double standards.
