What's the future of bikes and transportation on Market Street? We're holding a hearing at the Board of Supervisors on Monday, April 27 at 1PM to find out. In preparation, I went on a bike ride along Market Street with the Market Street Moving Alliance and @sfbike @walksf @StreetsForAllSF to see how it's going today. We saw so much activity - bikes, scooters, pedestrians - activating the corridor. But we also saw a lot of double parking and autonomous vehicles stopped in crosswalks. We'll accordingly be asking city departments about these questions at our hearing on Monday - how is the city following through on the Better Market Street plan, what is the future of autonomous vehicles on the corridor, and how will they address illegal double parking and other issues? Come to the Land Use Committee on Monday, April 27 at 1:30PM to have your voice heard and questions answered!

@_bnovc @Scott_Wiener Truly - where’s the fun video of @Scott_Wiener in rainbow handing out food and services to these people who need help? Where is he? I see Manny Yekutiel around often too, just walks right by like they don’t exist.

Bay Area has the most capital and the least art patronage per capita of any major tech hub. Last year at Venice Biennale I was just scouting. This year, with my LYRA art foundation, I’m bringing a mission: fix that. Who’s in?

We have some news: Joe Rivano Barros is our new executive editor! He will run the newsroom alongside the other editors. “Joe is so goddamn competent he has almost made me rethink my position on Stanford University. Almost,” said Joe Eskenazi, a Cal grad. missionlocal.org/2026/04/missio…

I'm thrilled to take on this role at a time when I think we're doing some of the best local reporting in the country, with far fewer resources than other newsrooms I've learned more than I can say from Lydia, Joe E. & the rest of the crew—very thankful for the mentorship

@terronk Watch out, you’ll be the next ML target! What interesting stuff, right on the heels of ML’s announcement that they’re “growing” to cover more of San Francisco.

The rest of the texts make it clear that Fielder and her staff have a very close relationship with Mission Local, frequently tipping them off to matters they want favorably covered. (I'm told this is not normal but whatever.) It's also clear text is not their only mode of comms.

I do Sunshine requests so you don't have to! Jackie Fielder's office claims they are not the source of the leak of a confidential memo. But texts I obtained have Fielder's aide texting with the reporter who wrote the story, about the subject of the memo, on the day of the leak.

We are proud to endorse @MattDorsey (District 6), Manny Yekutiel (District 8), and @TheoEllington (District 10) for Supervisor in the November election. These are leaders who understand that we need more housing, safer streets, and a city government that delivers results.
