Maryland MLAX vs Rutgers will have a lot of other teams scoreboard watching Hop and PSU are rooting for the Terps; everyone else would love to see Rutgers take a bit out of the Terps' resume

@aepstein Agreed! I looked at it yesterday afternoon, and I was thinking 8 seed. There's really not much of a sensible argument for Duke being seeded over Hop right now. 😃

Second Draft Bracketology. I would consider this to be my first serious look at the current state of the bracket. The order of the top 8 seeds is a little weird at the moment, with many undefeated teams low on the seed lines - their big games are still ahead of them. (cont.)

@fieldystick @College_Crosse I have a hard time seeing how they don't get at minimum two at-large berths. Provided no BE/PL/A10 bid steals, smart money is still on 4 ACCs, 2 B1Gs, 1 Ivy, with the last spot likely between a 2nd Ivy (Harvard) and a 3rd B1G (or 5th ACC, if UVA figures it out).

@terpslax1991 @danarestia @PremierLacrosse No, he did not play most of last year at attack. He played midfield for the first 12/14 games before moving to attack for the last two due to injuries. Also Leo is not "outproducing" him: Collison has more points per game over the last three years

@aepstein @danarestia @PremierLacrosse Last 3 yr’s points Plunkett 124, Leo 108, Collison 101. Collison played most of last year at A, so many more opportunities. Those guys are behind him in the rankings but are out producing him….proving my point. Collison’s rep outpaces the results. Good player but overrated

@terpslax1991 @danarestia @PremierLacrosse He averaged more points per game than Leo and Plunkett last year. Palumbo averaged less than half a point per game more in a much better offense. The small differences in production aren't very significant, especially without context

@danarestia @PremierLacrosse Collison is a good player with great size & some skill but at some point production matters & he doesn’t always produce. He averages 2 points a game. He’s a good player but I think I like the other middies 2-5 better. I think he ends up in 2/3 round

@fieldystick The T5 win over UNC could still be seen as a "differentiator" vs. a 9-6 Cuse team (assuming their ND win is T10 but not T5). But...it's a stretch without those two T20 wins as extra ammo

@aepstein Nailed it. Army's at large case is in big trouble if Georgetown and Towson win their respective AQs.

@fieldystick If UNC loses their next two, and Army loses in the PL tourney, and the final at-large comes down to a UNC team that's like 9 or 10 in RPI vs. an Army team that's ~12, what do you think happens? I realize this is an extreme hypothetical

who loses ILSF/non-AQ Army will be the team squeezed out if bubble shrinks at end. UMich is not quite AQ or bust, but dire for them right now. Key games upcoming: UNC/SU - winner locks; Duke/UVA, Penn/UND - Duke & UND lock with wins. RU/UMich - playoff game. Next update: April 28

Sixth Draft Bracketology. Cornell/OSU/PSU lock in. Travel is a mess with this current set of teams... this was the best I could do. It feels like the bracket is solidifying & at-larges are probably set so long as no major upsets in B1G/IL/PL tourneys. One of ACC#4/Harvard (cont.)

@T_Lax_1 @UVAMensLax @jhumenslacrosse I kind of lump that into historical rivalry versus active rivalry. Princeton is a historical rivalry, but are they really a current rival for JHU? Just not sure that the recent history of JHU/UVA makes it an active rivalry

Hopkins MLAX fans, I have a question for you. I'm trying to identify, for each team, who their "rivals" are based on proximity and recent results. The model has identified the current JHU rivals as MD Loyola PSU OSU Syracuse Any of those you'd take off? Anyone you'd add?

@laxreference Navy and UVA should be there. UNC too, especially considering who is coaching there now. You can make a case for pretty much any game on the schedule, but def those three + MD/Cuse/Loy. Not sure many consider PSU or OSU major rivals outside of having to play them in conference.
