A scouting report only has value if players are forced to process it, not just receive it. One of the many mistakes I make as a coach is confusing volume with preparation. We hand players pages of fronts, coverages, pressure tendencies, personnel notes, and situational data, then assume exposure equals retention. It usually does not. Until a player has to draw the front, identify the pressure percentage on normal down and distance, or explain how their top pass rusher plays, there is no proof the information has actually been absorbed. The goal is not to know everything. The goal is to lock in on the few details that most directly affect command when the bullets start flying. A clean scouting report should reduce noise, clarify priorities, and verify that the quarterback is carrying the right information into the week.

DeAndre Hopkins says he felt underutilized this season, especially in the red zone. In response to his one-handed catch in Week 1 vs. Bills, Hopkins said: “How many times after this do you think I was used in the red zone? When targeted I’m still one of the most productive.”

Player development doesnt have a time table. Stop lying saying these kids arent coachable. A kid will grind and play for a coach he likes and will push him to that limit. Problem is, most coaches dont have a relationship with their players, and only use them as stepping stones.
