Sorry, but I disagree. DeSantis may or may not have a future in politics after Florida, but to become part of the Trump administration would end his career. This Trump administration will end in chaos just like the first one.

To those saying Ron DeSantis should stay away from Trump, hear me out: The 2028 Republican presidential nominee will come from the administration, like it or not. Right now Ron is not a national household name. As AG, he would be. And his competence and intelligence would stand out in contrast to many of his peers. This might be the only way Ron has a chance of being POTUS next cycle.

I try to stay out of these Florida slap fights these days, but this is a narrative that needs to die.
DeSantis put in the work, and he went on to win by a far larger margin without Trump’s support in 2022.
Just give him his credit and move on. Not everything is Trump. It’s cringe.

There’s this weird push from outside Florida to anoint Byron Donalds as our next governor, meanwhile no one here seems particularly excited about him. It’s honestly hilarious to watch when each wave of this messaging rolls through. It feels like it wants to be a psychological operation, but it’s done so poorly that it doesn’t even qualify.
