What a great evening at the #StarsofEEAST2025 awards and what an awesome set of nominees. All should be extremely proud of becoming finalists! I had the privilege of sitting with the Family of Lynne Storrie, as they present an award on memory of Lynne, a former colleague who died whilst in training, over 20 years ago - keeping the memory of Lynne alive through this special award. The award is presented to a student who shows high potential and shines whilst in training. Thanks to @IanSollom joining the evening to hear the stories of the crews and services that provide emergency care to his constituents. A massive shout out to the education team who had at least 4 finalist nominations (well done Adam, Heather, Tasha and Alvina). Congratulations to winner Alvina, one of our Clinical Practice/ Education Coordinators in her mission to support our students at EEAST. Well done to another team who make a big impact on care, the Urgent Care Advanced Practice Team as they pick up an award for excellence in innovation, utilising Point of Care Ultrasound Scanning (POCUS) to keep vulnerable patients in their own home, and improve experience in end of life care. So many more citations that are worthy of recognition, from volunteers to our make ready teams, from EDI champions to emerging leaders. Super humbled by all my colleagues efforts, and as ever, proud to work along side you all.

A nice surprise in the mail this morning from @DavidMonk999 recognising the work of those not in a traditional paramedic role, so a special shout out to those paramedics delivering enhanced, advanced and consultant practice through Clinical Advice Services, Call Before You Convey senior support lines, UCCHs, Virtual Wards and similar. …all part of the modern approach to get the #UEC patient the best outcomes possible, supporting the shift from Hospital to Community, and bringing care and recovery closer to home #IPD2025

Congratulations to our emergency care assistants who are progressing their careers to become Emergency Medical Technicians. This course includes some new skills around patient assessment and a few more options in their toolkit to help treat emergency care patients. Well done all, and thanks for the team of Lecturers @EEAST_Education that supported their course.

Absolutely lovely news in @HSJnews this morning, that His Majesty the King has awarded the Kings Ambulance Medal to @UniofHerts graduate, Critical Care Advanced Paramedic and Head of Clinical Operations @EastEnglandAmb for @SNEEICB_IES @JemmaVarela KAM.
