@apallis Unfortunately I don’t think we can prove any kind of causation. And in fact the evidence points to variance being largely random.

1/2 There’s been strategic simplification for sure, and maybe that’s empowered the following, but these are truly powering this defensive surge: 1) Wings playing to their ability 2) JB guarding 3) Only playing good D role players 4) Poor opponent shooting 5) Back to elite D-REB

2/2 The 4th point is an annoying analysis point but can’t dismiss it. And teams were shooting above average all season so NYK was due to some extent. But teams shooting 23% from corners and 28% overall from 3 during win streak. That ain’t sustaining.
