Approaching end of 2025, this is my take on the five main problems countries with advanced economies face on the way to 2030: 1. Homelessness/Housing crisis. 2. Relative poverty (aka affordability crisis): Working hard but falling behind. 3. Radical Islam: an ideology that rejects integration and fuels extremism. 4. Populist movements (left & right) attacks on liberal democracy institutions: election legitimacy, separation of powers (including respect for court decisions), media independence, police work. 5. Climate adaptation: the political/economic instability from the costs of adapting to extreme weather, water scarcity, insurance withdrawal, and energy transition bottlenecks.

A mother living in Germany tells a story about her seven-year-old son being intimidated in a park. While her son was playing on a nearly empty field, a group of roughly ten children, aged roughly between 7 and 10, approached her son and asked whether he was "Arab or Turkish". When the boy replied that he didn't know, the group told him he had to leave the field because it was reserved only for Arabs or Turks. The children became increasingly aggressive, telling the boy he looked "dark/black" and therefore didn't belong there. Throughout this confrontation, the mother observed the other children's parents sitting nearby smoking shisha. Despite the group of ten children intimidating a single child, the other parents did not intervene. When the mother eventually stepped in to explain that the field was a public space and her son had as much right to play there as anyone else, the other children challenged her, emphasizing their numerical advantage of "ten against one". When she confronted the other parents, they were dismissive, telling her "not to take it personally". The incident concluded with the young boy leaving the field in tears, asking his mother for clarification on his own identity. The mother concludes the video expressing her shock and disbelief that children so young have already learned such exclusionary behavior and ethnic prejudice.

No equivocada. Malvada.

Truth is now considered a right-wing conspiracy. That’s the chilling line from Melanie Phillips that stopped me in my tracks. She explains how we’ve reached a point where simply stating observable reality — whether it’s basic biology defining a woman or pushing back against blanket accusations that all white people are inherently bad — gets you branded as evil. Not wrong. Evil. Therefore you must be silenced, cancelled, or erased. No debate. No evidence allowed. She calls it cultural totalitarianism: a Manichean worldview where one ideology claims a monopoly on goodness, progress, and reason itself. Dissent isn’t argued with — it’s treated as a moral threat that has to be removed. The deepest irony? In an era that smugly ditched religion in the name of superior rationality, we’ve ended up rejecting reason, evidence, and open inquiry altogether. We’re so “rational” we’ve dispensed with the very tools of rationality. It doesn’t add up. Her take has me wondering how we got here — and how quickly disagreement turned into moral excommunication. Anyone else seeing this pattern play out in conversations lately? Where have you felt truth itself become off-limits?

Cuba, 1980. No me jodan.

Queer editor James Ball declares Bluesky a “dying social network,” blaming aggressive censoriousness by Blueskyites of perceived ideological enemies: “There's a large cadre that basically cheers on chasing off any lib/centrist/academic who's the punchbag of the day. There's a culture of saying ‘fuck off back to X, then.’ And the anti- bedtime leftists set too much of the culture. “I don't know if it's fixable, especially as I think quite a lot of the people here don't *want* to fix it. But at the rate users are quitting they'll run out of targets soon enough, and the rest of us will lose what is – for a fair few of us I suspect – the last fun/useful social network. Sigh.”

Dr. Angus Dalgleish — one of Britain’s most respected oncologists and immunologists — is sounding a serious alarm. He warns that we’ve entered a new dark age in universities, scientific research, and government, driven by political correctness and woke ideology. Dalgleish calls it a cancer that has infected the heart of academia and the soul of the civil service. Political correctness, he says, is fundamentally anti-scientific: it decides in advance what you’re allowed to say, observe, and conclude. Truth becomes secondary to dogma. He compares the current denial to alcoholism — nothing gets fixed until institutions first admit there’s a deep problem. It’s a sobering warning from a senior scientist who has watched the rot spread for years. The clip is only 1:56 long, but it hits hard. Are we already too far gone, or is there still time to push back before these institutions completely lose their ability to seek truth?
