The Post Open model is attempting to address an all but critical irregularity pertaining to the present #opensource reality. Namely, large companies exploiting and profiting from open source without paying back into communities, projects, and contributors. However, I think that their model overtly contradicts the spirit and fundamental power underpinning Free Software philosophy, doctrine and practice. The root of the complaint at issue and the domain for the solution is far higher upstream than Post Open's point of entry; starting at mono/oligopolistic market structures instituted, harboured and sustained by illegitimate global and national financial architectures; as personified and actualized by the hyper-growth venture capital ideology. The most pertinent effects of the former being the effective prohibition of a range of smaller competitors, with more breadth to follow values [vs profit] based business philosophies and models. Fair and equitable integration by values based software, services, & infrastructure companies into open source communities and projects, can and will drive not only global scale, high revenue, and exceptional profitability. Speaking on the deep historical, cultural, and economic ties between the two regions, she emphasized that it is unjust for citizens of Africa and the Caribbean to face barriers when visiting each other, especially given their shared ancestry and struggles. Mottley stressed that free movement is essential for strengthening trade, collaboration, and unity among the descendants of those who endured colonization and slavery, and she called on leaders to act decisively to remove these outdated restrictions.

THE REAL PAN-AFRICANISM Pan-Africanism is more than just continental solidarity and cultural kinship.  Kambale Musavuli, one of the leading political and cultural voices from the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), argues that the true essence of Pan-Africanism, particularly as forged at the Fifth Pan-African Congress in Manchester in 1945, transcends mere sentimental unity and involves a concrete strategy for total liberation and development. Kambale reminds us that the motivation for the Pan-Africanism of 1945 was unequivocally clear: it was not "unity for the sake of unity." Instead, it was a direct response to the systemic deprivation of African people and the relentless exploitation of the continent's vast natural resources. 80 years later, there is an urgent need to rediscover and implement the commitment to economic justice and self-determination championed by Pan-Africanists such as W.E.B. Du Bois, George Padmore, and Kwame Nkrumah. Kambale's message is that we need to discard forms of Pan-Africanism that prioritise political rhetoric over real improvements in the lives of ordinary Africans. Authentic Pan-Africanism means a call to action: to harness the continent's wealth for the benefit of its own people. A visible sign of its resurgence can be seen in the alliance of Sahel States (AES) of Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger. The trio are leading the way in reclaiming our sovereignty and control over our resources. They have booted French and US troops, they are nationalising resources, and they are consolidating their security and foreign affairs. The discerning observer may perceive the Post Open initiative as a brilliant yet gravely deviant, errant ploy to legitimize the standing defacto control and domination of #opensource by large corporations such as @Microsoft, @Oracle, @Google, and @IBM; as demonstrated by their platinum and gold 'memberships' to the @linuxfoundation, with accompanying seats on the Linux Foundation Board of Directors. It is further implicating that @bruceperens, arch protagonist to the Post Open 'movement' is a co-founder of @OpenSourceOrg-The Open Source Initiative; as supported by the likes of Google and @Cisco. The smoking gun lies in the predictable course of events and reality as we pursue the Post Open path; in that where large corporations are mandated to pay up to 1% of their huge revenues to open source projects and contributors, they will gain [or reveal] undue power, control, and influence over the direction, priorities, implementation, and exclusions of open source projects... Contrast this with a course of events and reality where we pursue the path of a wide, diverse range of values [vs profit] biased companies, integrating fairly and equitably into open source communities and projects. Sharing value created by reciprocating in terms of product, knowledge, and money. ... And the case makes itself.
