@SamOlbur It doesn’t help when Michigan fans dont bring the passion and energy worthy of a championship game to the building and leave 20% of upper deck empty. You can bet any other Big Ten fan base besides OSU would bring it far better.

@CrimsonCast Dumbest hire of all time by a so-called blue blood if you ask me. All the risks of hiring NBA coach without alumni sentiment. Teams need to learn to pivot to solid up and comers in college game when top names decline. Id be furious if I was UNC fan.

Sources: North Carolina intends to hire longtime NBA coach Michael Malone as the school’s next basketball coach. He’s an NBA Championship coach with the Denver Nuggets from the 2022-23 season and has won 510 games as an NBA head coach.

@iualum86 @Hoosier_Huddle Not at all. You return 3 of your 4 key players with eligibility and have top-10 recruiting class with 2 players who should play right away. Need 2-3 solid adds from portal but way ahead of last offseason. Losing one key contributor is normal. It’s how you replace that matters.

@crimsonace @SethTow This seems like an odd player to throw bag of money at given where she is at in development. The world of college sports often sees impact transfers. Question is can Moren bring in noteworthy transfers like she did with Shay and back. Cant have a portal class like last yr again

@SethTow I have to wonder what caused this. She started every game, so she’s not leaving for more playing time. She never seemed unhappy. Any other P4 would be a lateral move. This feels like a situation where another school gave her agent an NIL number IU couldn’t match.

I will warn people to exercise restraint and not overreact to this — which isn't synonymous with this space, I know. All you can see now is outbound transfers, whereas in the past it all happened simultaneously. Let's see what the roster looks like when dust settles.

@HoosierHaze @Hoosier_Review It was actually the starter Brayton Thomas today giving up six runs in less than two innings that made this un-winnable. Thomas has actually been quite good this yr and simply didn’t have it today which happens sometimes and couldn’t locate his pitches from start.

@ashifron @SirStanton81 @IndianaBase I feel like Mercer captures talent to develop individuals but TEAM is missing. Witness we never have seniors in field. Errors abound on D. The anomaly is this year with zero clutch hitters (other than occasional). Look at big tourney results-horrible

@drzomehr @HoosierHaze @Cabbyfromgreene No. It’s not scoring after third inning on a Sunday when pitching runs low. Its an offensive feast or famine issue. College is seeing record offense and on Sunday you should expect close to 10 runs, especially when getting six early. Bullpen and pitching has battled their ass off

@HoosierHaze @Cabbyfromgreene Its the offense this yr. Program is playing whack-a-mole. This yrs pitching would easily get you in tourney with last couple yrs offense. Plug one hole and another leaks. Speaks to a culture of development for pros over results which I have column coming out about later this week

@ashifron @IndianaBase It’s true that Mercer has also ran the offense into the ground but the pitching has been mostly terrible against any decent competition before this series.

@ashifron @IndianaBase It’s a program issue…if it’s not one thing it’s another. When the team pitches decently they get no slug, when they score runs pitching can’t throw strikes.
