@alex_here_now @atomstrauss @HamiltonMorris And in doing so, I think there is a very real possibility that people may either never explore these options out of fear, or their ( exploited) fears may negatively impact their experiences. Hence the need for more balanced, honest and rational narratives

@atomstrauss has a cool new podcast on psychedelics. In this 1st episode he talks with @HamiltonMorris, who discusses my warning folks about derealization risk with psychedelics. Link to video in replies (around 36-45 min into video). It's an important conversation- how do we handle risks? Does warning about risk give ammunition to opponents of the field? Has enough simply been said about harms over the years? My take is to try to be nuanced- convey risk but also discuss benefits & ways to mitigate risk. Lots of discussion of other big picture issues in the psychedelic field, including the pervasiveness of virtue signaling, and the dangers of assuming nonprofits are good guys and for-profits are bad guys (no relation to ethics that I've seen).
