@AishaDaughter Man I wish I could switch off these japanese tweets on my timeline, the close mindedness is exhausting. One Jap guy meets 2 black guys in Hiroshima and it didn't go well, now they're are spreading the gospel about blacks as if they've stayed in Abuja, Kampala or Johannesburg

Flight from Harare to Bulawayo $50 and it takes just 45mins Luxury Coach Bus from Harare to Byo $45 and its takes 5 hrs A typical Zimbabwean would prefer saving $5 and wasting 4 hrs 15 mins

@Obvy6 @masibanda_ I need you to write on google right now, that how many civilian planes does the country of Zimbabwe have that are flight worthy or operational. If you're honest enough to post that number, I want to have a very interesting conversation with you. Deal?

It’s wild how the auto translate feature on X has almost single-handedly butchered Japan’s reputation on here. Lmao.

@osaka_seventeen The world thought of Japanese people as strong willed samurai's, admired it's people for their great culture, creativeness, and politeness but X's auto translate feature is revealing a very sick side the world never knew existed.

@GovSherrillNJ Countries go to war to host the world's game. Fans go to war to experience these games. Your city got a chance to host some game and you're still mad. Are you okay?

FIFA is charging fans up to $10,000 for a single ticket to the final. They’re charging over $200 for “premium” parking at the American Dream Mall – while eliminating parking at MetLife Stadium. They’re set to make $11 billion off of the World Cup overall. But New Jerseyans should foot a $48 million bill for transportation costs? Not happening.

Completely agree on the core principle , economic participation shouldn’t be a privilege reserved for a few. The intent behind BEE is morally sound: correct historic exclusion and bring everyone to the table. The real conversation isn’t whether inclusion matters — it absolutely does — it’s whether the current implementation is reaching the mother in the township or stopping at the boardroom.

🇿🇦 South African President Cyril Ramaphosa says that the country will not abandon its DEI policies, known as “Black Economic Empowerment (BEE).” “Those who say BEE and affirmative action must stop are just dreaming,” he said. South Africa has strict laws that mandate race-based hiring practices. A new law called the Employment Equity Amendment Act sets hiring targets for 2025–2030 across 18 economic sectors. Some workforce targets aim for 90–96% of employees to come from designated groups, which include Black people, women, and people with disabilities (minimum 3%). That means that if a company has more than 5% white men, it could face penalties of up to 10% of its income.

@gajjarvishal86 @visegrad24 Number 4: Whether BEE is being implemented right as you described earlier is another subject, but first thing first, everyone has to be able to get a fair chance at participating in vital economic activities not just a few elite, then after everyone is inside we can now find....

@gajjarvishal86 @visegrad24 Economic outcome for who? For a few elite? The question that has to be solved whatever the cost might be is that of the economic empowerment and emancipation of every member of the South African society. By whatever means necessary!!

Politics aside — the business question worth asking is: does mandating workforce composition by demographic targets actually improve economic outcomes for the people it’s designed to help? South Africa’s unemployment rate sits above 30%. GDP growth has been sluggish for a decade. The intention behind BEE is correcting historic injustice — that’s undeniable. But the metric that matters most isn’t who gets hired. It’s whether those hired are being set up to thrive, earn more, build wealth, and close the gap permanently. Policy without economic mobility is just paperwork.
