$100m Business idea Catastrophic Health Insurance Insurance that only kicks in for expenses over $100k. Everything else is out of pocket Who’s building this? I’ll invest
Wall Street Apes@WallStreetApes

American is a healthy 28 year old, he decided to skip paying for health insurance this year because the cheapest plan was $900 per month with a high deductible He had to spend 2 nights in the ER without insurance, he breaks down the bill “This is my receipt from spending 2 days in the hospital: - It totaled about $24,000 - My CT scan alone was $8,300 - Laboratory, 6,000 - IV therapy, $1,020, $4,000 in total And while $24,000 seems like a lot of money, let me show you something. This is what I'm actually paying, $2,478 because when you don't have insurance, these hospitals give you a discount. They discounted $22,000 off of this bill” “But if I had insurance, I wouldn't have gotten that discount. So it would've been a $24,000 bill billed to my insurance, and then my insurance would've said, ‘Hey, you have a $5,000 deductible. You need to pay $5,000 for this last emergency room visit.’ Then you tack on the $900 a month that I'd be paying for that insurance. I'd be paying $20K this year for healthcare. So the craziest part about this is even if I have another hospital visit, by the end of this year, I'm still gonna be paying less than I would if I had insurance. At minimum, my cost for healthcare this year would've been $20,000 with insurance. Right now I'm at $2,400.” US Health Insurance is a scam

@KingHalty @RoaringHammy For me, as an attendee of said wedding^, the entire week around the wedding is still paying memory dividends to this day. It also compounded the experience of the wedding itself.

@RoaringHammy Not a single relative other than immediate family made it to my destination wedding and some friends missed it too. No obligation for them to come and I was cool with that. The experience was for us. Our wedding, not theirs.

My cousin says people who have destination weddings are a bit selfish because it puts financial pressure on their relatives and friends. Do you agree?

@irentdumpsters Or next time , Just don’t do an SAB…it’s better to start with an address, turn it off ,then you know you can always later add your address back, but starting with an SAB You’re just going to give yourself unnecessary headaches in the long run

Google Business Profile verification trick most people don't know about: We've managed hundreds of profiles and transferred hundreds of service area businesses to physical locations over the last three years. Here's the pattern we see every time Businesses with 100+ reviews and a profile that's been open 1+ year get pushed right through verification when they add an address. Almost immediately. No issues. The ones who get suspended? Usually less than 100 reviews and a profile that's only been open six months. Google trusts established profiles. They don't trust new ones. Reviews aren't just for rankings. They're trust signals that affect everything on your profile including whether Google lets you make changes without flagging you If you're planning to add a physical location to your service area business stack reviews first and let the profile age

What’s your Word of the Year for 2026? Mine is: Manifest 2025 was a year of transition. I planted a lot of seeds. Now it’s time to bear fruit—to turn dreams into reality. Don’t discount exercises like this as hokey. Words have huge power. 👇
Mike Brown@mbrown_co

Resolutions fail because they negotiate with your old identity. Rather than a bunch of new "life hacks" that set you up for disappointment, try this instead: 👉 Choose a single word for the year that defines who you want to become in 2026. (Bookmark this post and download my free exercise to find yours) This single word acts as: - the theme that inspires you throughout the year - a single filter for better decision making - a reminder of who you are becoming I've done this for the last five years, and every year my word challenges me in ways I can't imagine at the beginning of the year. This works because instead of battling against your programming, you are upgrading your identity. Make a list of 5-10 (or more) potential words that capture the essence of: - Who you want to become - How you want to feel - What you want to create Once you have your shortlist, circle your top 3. Test each word with these questions: 1. Does this word make you feel both excited and slightly uncomfortable? (Growth happens at the edge of your comfort zone) 2. Is this word broad enough to apply to all areas of your life, yet specific enough to guide daily decisions? 3. When you say this word out loud, does it feel true? Does it resonate in your body? 4. Can you imagine using this word as a filter for decisions throughout the year? Do your best to focus on the words that roll up and embody others on the list. For example, my word for this year was Purpose. When I looked at the other words on my list, such as Productive or Intentional, they were all included within the bigger idea of Purpose. I wore my word on a bracelet around my wrist. That way, every time I looked down, I would ask myself: "Is this aligned with my Purpose?" A word of wisdom after doing this for a few years: after you’ve gone through the exercise, sit with your word for a week or so and make sure it still brings the same magic. Think of it like trying on a new shirt - it may feel great initially, but make sure you like it after you wear it a couple of times. 👇If you already have a word for 2026, what did you choose and why? Husqvarna sent me a stack of chainsaws to give away because a bear stole mine & Internet went wild. I’m adding a 4 day/3 nt stay to my Smoky Mtn cabin. (Side by side tours, meet Jimmy & me, see old moonshine stills, crazy views). To enter (100% free, no purchase necessary): 1) Follow @BowTiedBroke 2) Comment on THIS post with literally anything (tag friends = extra luck with the dartboard later 👀) Contest runs exactly 24 hours —-> closes tomorrow at 10:00 AM EST At close, @grok will instantly pick 20 random commenters with accounts older than 3 months. Then, I put those 20 names on a dartboard, film one throw, and THAT person wins everything. No bots, no BS, fully transparent. Grok posts the 20 here, the dart decides destiny 🎯 Sorry international followers (not that I have that many) U.S. followers only for this one. Cabin is in Tennessee, chainsaws are heavy, and bears don’t do passports. Let’s go! Drop a reply and let’s see who the Chainsaw stealing bear chooses.

Iron John is a masterpiece. So is everything described in these posts.
Pratyush@pratyushbuddiga

A nuance here - I actually don’t really believe in “work/life balance” vs aiming for “work/life integration,” but I believe there are a few things we need to adjust for the modern era of work. Men and women used to mostly work alongside their children or extremely close to them. It was easy for the child to participate in the work at a young age and understand it from an even younger age. This creates a reality to the work, and the fruits of hard work are more clearly felt and earned. Now we work in offices usually 30-40 miles away from our children, doing work that’s nearly impossible to explain what we’re actually doing. It’s hard for a child to participate in it. The absence becomes more unexplainable, more unreal. Some solutions imo: 1. Be extremely present when at home and the children are awake. 2. Work extra after they sleep or before they wake up - the sleep sacrifice is worth it. 3. Once they’re old enough, try to truly integrate them into your work. Help them understand it and ideally even participate in it if they can. Like for me, they won’t be able to join a pitch meeting but maybe they can watch a recording after if okay with the founders. Or play with the app I’m evaluating. Or using the tools we’ve invested in, etc. My children are too young for that right now, but I am planning on this being a significant part of their childhood. Notable screenshots from Iron John attached.
