Last day at work after 15 years with the same team. 15. I was part of the Glose founding team, and we grew from 3 to 20 people. Then we went on an amazing adventure with Medium and grew much bigger instantly! What a ride! And now I can't wait to start the next chapter!

For a US citizen, it costs less to book a round trip flight to China, stay for a week in 5 star hotels, and pay out of pocket for an MRI, than to get an MRI in the USA. The US healthcare system isn't broken. It's working as intended. Let's break it.

I had this situation multiple times. I remember I was flying from UK to Houston, 8-9 hour flight. I was sitting in aisle. Middle seat was empty and one lady sitting on the window seat. A couple came and asked me that if I would move back to some other seat (middle) so they can sit together. I looked at them.... like hell NO. My seat is a paid seat. And who the hell is going to take that offer on a 9 hour flight :).

This girl on TikTok said: If I buy a window seat on a plane and your child is sitting in my seat when I get there, please don’t expect me to “let them have it” cause they’re crying. Get your child out my seat. You should have purchased a window seat for them. You can never make me feel bad for feeling entitled to the seat I purchased.

Both went with "no junior hires this cycle" The feedback is always the same: "We're looking for someone who can hit the ground running with AI tooling" Last week she interviewed at a Series B fintech that posted an "Associate Software Engineer" role The engineering manager was honest: "This role used to be for bootcamp grads and new CS majors. Now we need someone who can manage 3 AI agents and review their output at senior level" The salary range dropped from $95k to $68k because "the AI does most of the actual coding" Her algorithms professor still brags about 98% job placement rates from 2019-2022 Jessica's working retail at Target while her loan payments kick in next month $1,847 monthly minimum on a $16/hour Target salary She keeps getting LinkedIn ads for "AI Bootcamps" promising to make her "recession-proof" The same bootcamps now cost $24k because they know desperate CS grads will pay anything Her former classmates who got hired? They're all at consulting firms or doing product management The ones still coding are mostly maintaining legacy systems at banks, waiting for those to get automated too Yesterday she got an email from her university asking for a donation to the new "AI Ethics Research Center" But sure, keep telling kids that computer science is a stable career path

@StanislavK Are you running on a real physical device? When you update and save the record on CloudKit console then does it automatically reflect those changes on the app running on a device?

@azamsharp Nice, thanks for the tip! I tried it on iOS, and it only updates when the app returns from the background. When the app is in the foreground and I change a record in the console, no update (no remote notification) is received like in your video. Any ideas?

@revenant_MMXX Is this an entry level role? When I worked for university, my pay was around $42K. That was back in 2005.

That's poverty pay for a competent software developer. What excuse is there for this to continue happening?
