Is it possible that there is a generational divide over what we have just seen. Older people will remember that live TV can go wrong, and loved what they saw. Safe, timid, younger people are going through the DSM looking for something to phone in sick with. #ImACeleb

And just because you felt it was intimidating doesn't mean those that don't are wrong. I used to face regular aggression in a job, I never felt intimidated, some of my colleagues did.
