Like she just remembered she has to actually manage these people tomorrow. The guilt trip has been delivered, the "I feel awful" response from one has been collected, mission accomplished, now dismount gracefully. It's such a specific kind of manipulation that people who do it genuinely don't think they're doing it. She probably went home feeling like a great boss who was just being "transparent" with her team.

Yeah the rates are ridiculous. 50% can happen rather quickly even without sales, property, luxury, use, fuel, splost, etc etc . Then you consider the workforce participation rate... Just the taxes in booze alone in this country would fund an entire continent of countries anywhere else.

@bentleypc @WallStreetApes Haha. No. I was arguing that the tax burden of a working American can easily exceed 50% and in that total burden, I included the employer side of Social Security and Medicare.

Cool, so I want you to guess what percentage of "setup a phone to record this silly meeting" was unintentional and had nothing to do with "whoa is me, your employer who does all these things for you" now lets post it to keep it private because I don't like bragging. No one flexes like that out of altruism.

@bentleypc @WallStreetApes She didn’t frame it that way, she wanted them to guess how much she paid in Payroll Taxes for 3 years and their guess for 3 years was actually a yearly amount

When she says "tax I paid just to pay you guys" she's talking about their income taxes, that she pays each pay period for her employees so that they themselves don't have to collect their own taxes and send them in. To frame it as "I pay this just so I can employ you" is just ignorance or stupidity. She takes it out of her employees checks to pay her employees taxes so her employee isn't stuck with the burden. They make the employer do it under "W2" rules and regulations. If they were "1099", her number would be 0, and they would all be contractors and liable for their own payroll taxes.

@WallStreetApes I had a discussion with a bootlicker recently when I included the employer portion of taxes as part of the tax burden. The boot licker did not agree. kind of like it was magic money that didn’t really count.

@WallStreetApes @grok explain this. Is the owner paying taxes on top of the taxes that get taken out of the employees check? Let’s say the compensation is $30 an hour, is the owner spending more than $30 an hour for the employees work? Is it better tax wise, to pay employees 1099 or W2?

As an ignorant employer running multiple businesses, I'd like to call out that the percentage I pay out of your check that goes to your taxes, even the additional burden of paying half your SS & MC, comes out of your pay and not mine. That's because I have to pay you less to be able to afford the burden.

I mean i understand the frustration, but that "pay roll" tax is literally the same as the "income tax" that her employees are paying and not some additional tax on top of what they are paying. In other words her "pay roll" tax she is "paying" is all coming out of your check not hers and then yours.
