Deeply saddened to receive the news of Shinzo Abe's death. I strongly condemn this cowardly attack. My condolences to his family and the Japanese people. I know Japan as a peaceful, democratic country. This is also an attack on our fundamental values of free speech and democracy!

Sunday night, a young man shot at least three people fatally and wounded many others in a shopping mall in Copenhagen. A joyous summer day in Denmark tragically turned into a dreadful night. From New York my thoughts and my heart goes out to the victims and their families.
