I mean, he is kind of right if we compare to OP. So many people who like the cards also read the manga, watches the anime, collects the figures, etc. If Pokemon Center does a bundle drop with some TCG product and a $10 plush or $8 pin, the hobby has a whole meltdown on social media lol

Not defending him since I’m he’s a scum bag and I do agree he took advantage of that kid, but it sounds sound like Jason was wrong about the show being in March (this guy points out it was a couple weeks ago in May). This would actually line up with Orlando collect a con which took place on the 23rd & 24th

@biigsauuce The worst part about this is that the interaction happened in march. Damaged gengar was like 20-40 dollars. He scammed the kid. He didn’t post sooner because it would have looked really bad on him. He waited till the gengar was up or wouldn’t have posted at all.

But he never said the actual market value for the card in that condition is $150. He’s simply using those other listings to support his claim that it’s valued at $150. Like I said, I don’t agree with that valuation and think he’s a scumbag. Just trying to help you understand how he landed on that number.

@biigsauuce In the video he shows eBay listings for 150$. I can literally list a crusty sock for 5,000$ and use it as an example. It doesn’t mean they sell for that. The other guy actually showed eBay “sold listings” when you use eBay you can search for older sold listings to see examples

I’m not defending his valuation since I think he’s a scumbag, but you’re confused. He never said it sells in this condition for $150. He’s making an assumption it would get a PSA 1, which has a market value of $300. Because of that, he assigned this card a value of $150, purely based on speculation that it would grade a 1.

@biigsauuce This guys wrong. The card is not SELLING (sold listings) at 150 for damaged. He just went on eBay and searched for the highest ASKING price. Look on tcg player and it shows the current ask and recent sold listings. Also look on eBay at “sold listings” (ones that sold already)
