Journalists who cover Elon Musk have been suspended on Twitter tonight: @Donie O'Sullivan from CNN, Aaron Rupar and the Washington Post's @drewharwell. Rupar tells me he has "no idea" why it happened.

You may wonder how Elon Musk can be so consistently hilarious. One key technique he uses is to come up with prospective jokes, ask his employees if they're funny, and then fire anyone who says no.

@PrachiSrivas It seems a similar “gargle and spit” test has been approved in British Columbia? Are you suggesting it’s not being deployed (yet) for some reason?

@PrachiSrivas Yes, I think that’s correct. Anecdotally a couple of days, but that’s not a characteristic of that method, just lab capacity generally. It’s not a rapid test, the touted benefit is that it’s less invasive and doesn’t require training to obtain usable samples.

@PrachiSrivas I can confirm that here in Austria, “gargle” tests are no longer just proof-of-concept but the official method of choice in schools deployed at scale: novid20.org/en/gargle-study.
