The government is more interested in playing chicken with the fuel price protesters than fixing this crisis.

@Niall_Boylan Fair play to the leadership in Ireland not giving in. Give in to this and it’ll teach Pepper and his Monterrain tracksuit cronies that they can just block up everything to get their own way.

To all the people I heard and read about who missed a hospital appointment, can’t get to work or can’t get diesel for the car, and so much more hardship because of the protests, don’t be angry with the protestors. Direct your anger at the leadership in Ireland that has allowed and escalated this protest. It was only a matter of time that a group of people stood up to the government and the ongoing rip-off cost of living in Ireland, particularly when it comes to energy and fuel. The men and women who drive for a living, the farmers, the delivery people, the haulage companies, the bus drivers and many more are part of the backbone of our economy and country, as well as all the other important industries and workers. They bring food to our tables and shops, and the government has pushed them into a corner. If they are successful, it will benefit everybody. Your government abandoned you on fuel credit and help once they got elected. They have completely abandoned us in favour of their obligations to every other country and the EU. It’s not easy for everybody at this time, and it’s easy to give out about the protest, but remember they are there as a symbol of peaceful protest for everybody. I hope both sides remain peaceful, and I respect the Gardaí who have so far dealt with the situation respectfully. I also plead with the Gardaí, remember they don’t want to be there just like you. They know you have fuel bills too, and our fine men and women in the Gardaí have been underpaid and unappreciated for years in a thankless job that I wouldn’t do. So if you are ordered to dismantle the protest, remember we are all Irish people and all in this cost of living crisis together. Nobody with a sense of normality wants this continued chaos, but there are elected representatives who can end this today by just putting some of that taxpayers’ money to good use to protect us from this rip-off. They see no problem giving millions to “good causes” around the world on a weekly basis, but they can’t even talk to a group of people who are speaking for us all for a reasonably priced litre of fuel. Remember, the government we elected works for us, not themselves or Europe

@Polito_loco Going to end in tears for you again, Kirk. Crying, begging for people to help your court costs. You’re nothing but a leech on society. The likes of you, O’Dwyer and Pepper trying to drag everything down. Pack of racists.

I have to be honest and say I've only got two words going through my head this afternoon after how the men who are protesting were treated and not given entry to the fuel protest meeting. National Strike.

Be careful who negotiates on your behalf. During Covid, the RAI met with the government and all of a sudden we had a Covid passport so we could open that next to no single restaurant owner asked for or wanted I hope the right people are in the room this time

Just received a DM from a good friend / follower who is a carer dropping into elderly clients in the North Inner City. They are saying they are walking into freezing homes, having to leave their coats on as they bathe clients. One women surrounds herself with four hot water bottles to keep warm as she is terrified to turn the heating on. This is the country we are living in, this is how we treat the people who built the country. Something has to change. The Government is out of touch or indifferent to what is going on in the country. Or both. #FuelProtest ⛽️

Just happened at Inver Clane My son and the guy in the Hi-Viz had to step in and stop a guy grabbing the diesel pump off the lady filling her car. He cornered her and tried to grab the pump....she ended up covered in diesel. This is getting out of hand.

@binmanbenn @IrelandFootball Tell me the managers name , look at the Demographics of where the players play , tell me how these players were selected ? And how many games outside Dublin that the manager has been to ? No players from munster ? Not one ? Its laziness on behalf of manager , and nepotism.

@allinadaysgraft @IrelandFootball You’re confusing nepotism with academy structures not producing players. Some players leave Munster & Connaught to pursue their career elsewhere. Look @ bigger picture, not the name of the club player is playing at. Crying “nepotism” if you don’t get picked isn’t good for life

@binmanbenn @IrelandFootball I was always told never to argue with a fool , as you then become the fool . You are naive if you think the selection process is not political and full of nepotism , that the underage coaches actually care , they just want their pay packets , keep their friends happy in Dublin

@allinadaysgraft @IrelandFootball So somebody has to be included from Munster to satisfy you. Who is so good at Treaty, Kerry, Cobh etc at this age that this “nepotism” affected? Furthermore, a manger must see a player play in his home county or it doesn’t count as having seen them play. Nonsense paranoia

@binmanbenn @IrelandFootball Do a survey of LOI Academies , ask them how many times an Ireland underage manager or coach has been to their home games , the result would amaze you . Politics , nepotism , club affiliations , same old same old .
