i don't think suggesting something to the boss who agrees with it is throwing a tantrum. if he did literally throw a tantrum though, fucking GOOD, he was right to and the title and main event scene and company benefited from it.

Because irl i don't recall any rumors or reports about mox demanding to take the world title from bryan? in fact, aew and bryan wanted the belt to go to mox, iirc? unless you mean the punk squash?

@ElHijoDelSimon He literally blew his lid on tony and told him he was done wrestling. I would call it a tantrum. I'm not acting like it didn't benefit the company in the long term, but that world title run itself was DRY and it only felt like after the title run did he really find a rhythm again

@gendermaterials I am absolutely happy that OC Roddy and KOR are trios champions and happy they’re helping out the trios division, but it feels so fucking wrong that Orange hasn’t gotten proper revenge on Mox and the DRs but Darby has. Orange worked so much better with Mox THAN him too imo

i'm not crashing out anymore but I do think I have yet to see a single reasoning people have used to justify stunt booking darby winning the title last dynamite that wouldn't be more true of orange cassidy or kevin knight and neither of them were named in the speakingout movement

@snowboiiii i realized recently that my favorite wrestlers, mox, danielson, omega, toni storm, athena, jay white, sami zayn, kevin owens (list is prob endless)- they're my favs because they can fully immerse me in the fictional reality of the wrestling world. they make me believe, truly.

it's really funny when people say that the internet killed kayfabe or whatever and that's why wrestling can't be good now because if you watch newsreels from the 1930s they're like "and now let's check in on pro wrestling, that fake gay sport that's just a bit of fun!"

Maybe a hot take, but if you have as many guys signed as WWE does, ideally some of those “midcarders” should have enough momentum/excitement to step up into the main event if they need to, at any given moment.

@PerfectGameLex and yes, i absolutely have my personal tastes vis-a-vis how much a wrestler can immerse me (say, danielson does more for me in this regard than ospreay). i believe everyone does. but to approach this as not a matter of preference, but rather of realism.. feels a little bizarre.

@asukascity the desire for character drama, perhaps. jet won the tnt title by hitting the ufo on garcia AND speedball. sure, he pinned garcia and not speedball, but you could launch a story here about bailey's resentment towards knight's success. esp if their teamwork is affected by this.

I get defensive cause at the idea of a JetSpeed breakup/heel turn cause those are my goats but it just makes no sense. They’ve won trios belts together, Kevin got his first singles title and I’m sure Speedball will get a singles title eventually.
They’re succeeding together and the crowds love them both as a team and individuals. Why some ppl rather blow it all up is lost on me!
