@ayeeSybau @emuse1955 So there was a random mob or did something happen that landed him in jail
And the town to hate him
English

@emuse1955 You can call it a shootout but you’re saying that’s all it was with no context. Joseph Smith and his friends were waiting for a fair trial when they were attacked by a mob that wanted to execute them and succeeded. So defending yourself is how I would describe it.
English

Thoughtful-Faith@ThoughtfulSaint
Saying its an "Undeniable Historical Fact" that Joseph Smith "died in a shootout" is just why unbiased people wont take @emuse1955 seriously. Like we know from the first hand witnesses what happened... and calling this a "shootout" just shows how far you are willing to go to push your own bias in your analysis of history. youtu.be/hX2hmIKl1MY?si…

@Bongo83948 @seanryanlayton @deplorablerebi1 @emuse1955 Moses and St. Paul both have modes of credibility either through public miracles or acceptance by the apostles. that is the starting point for their inspired writings.
you don’t have to take the gnostic gospels serious because the authors lack credibility. Thats the foundation
English

@Bongo83948 @seanryanlayton @deplorablerebi1 @emuse1955 Muslims find it coherent and zero issue with the guidance of the Quran…because they think it’s from a prophet, attacking his credibility is a valid argument against the Quran.
English

@bluduck13 @seanryanlayton @deplorablerebi1 @emuse1955 It’s quite simple. Look at the logic, the coherence, the alignment with other trusted sources of revelation, the guidance, how the guidance maps onto real world outcomes and our moral framework. There are a multitude of possible ways to examine a text to determine plausibility.
English

@bluduck13 @XanacrustX @LoganMPierce1 @ChristandGuitar I didn't say they were demonic. But they were politically motivated. And the creeds don't talk about loving Christ. They try to define His physical/metaphysical nature based on the idea of a Trinity that didn't even get thought of until 100 AD.
English

I just got done watching this debate between Ethan Muse and Luke Hanson. The debate topic: Is the Book of Mormon demonic?
Ethan built a fairly solid case around Joseph Smith's problematic history. His stance: If the person who wrote the book can be proven to have demonic influences, then the book itself does too.
Luke mostly waved this off, citing how someone like David in the Bible had his own issues, and how it couldn't be demonic because of how much good Mormon people do today.
I think they finally got to the actual argument near the end of the cross examination: does the BOM teach the real Jesus? Unfortunately, this was danced around and they never really engaged with the meat of that topic. Personally, I think this is where the actual argument needed to be had. Demons have no problem teaching people about Jesus if that "Jesus" is the wrong one.
Other notes: Ethan should have read the entire BOM, not just 30%. Luke had a lot of issues just ignoring or not engaging with many of Ethan's points, eating up a lot of the cross examination time. Luke also had a tendency to punt to multiple options or ambiguity as a way to get out tight corners.
Overall, Ethan Muse had a much stronger case, and I could tell that he only needed to use a portion of what he had prepared beforehand.

English

@Catholic_Bob I think it’s a secret boast about how they were right about black people being evil. we live in 90% white communities look how nice it is!
English

@IJustDoItForThe @XanacrustX @LoganMPierce1 @ChristandGuitar So the people who knowingly create creeds that are abominations demonic? and if yes, how ? They talked about loving Jesus.
English

@bluduck13 @XanacrustX @LoganMPierce1 @ChristandGuitar No, but you can't fault people who unknowingly believe in abominations.
English

@Bongo83948 @seanryanlayton @deplorablerebi1 @emuse1955 just answer how I would disprove Muhammad as a prophet to Muslims using the Quran text.
English

@bluduck13 @seanryanlayton @deplorablerebi1 @emuse1955 Turn this argument around and see how absurd it is.
Is the early life of Moses or Paul necessary to determine the validity of their books of scripture?
English

@Bongo83948 @seanryanlayton @deplorablerebi1 @emuse1955 once again I am asking about arguing with a Muslim…ofc the Muslim reads his regious text. so please answer..how would someone disprove Muhammad being a prophet using their text.
English

@bluduck13 @seanryanlayton @deplorablerebi1 @emuse1955 How could someone consider Muhammad a prophet without viewing the writings he claims to be revelations?
English

@bluduck13 @XanacrustX @LoganMPierce1 @ChristandGuitar Humans can still make mistakes without malice and without the influence of satan. All corruption is implicitly a bad thing. But not all corruption is evil.
English

@Bongo83948 @seanryanlayton @deplorablerebi1 @emuse1955 That has nothing to do with what I said. If someone thinks Muhammad is a profit how would viewing his writings convince them otherwise?
English

@bluduck13 @seanryanlayton @deplorablerebi1 @emuse1955 Yeah, I think Christ had a better method…
By their fruits, ye shall know them.
English

@XanacrustX @LoganMPierce1 @ChristandGuitar Does the corruption come from God or ultimately from Satan?
English

@LoganMPierce1 @ChristandGuitar Here is an LDS article about the corruption of the Bible and Church.
Plain and Precious Truths Restored share.google/mkKbzqgmhMfWBL…
English

@ChristandGuitar my main issue is Mormons don’t hold to their own standard. How has the church fallen and taught abominations if that church tells you to follow Jesus?
English

@Bongo83948 @seanryanlayton @deplorablerebi1 @emuse1955 Muslims are convinced the Quran to be true and from God, I don’t see any fruitfulness looking at their text. It’s more important to show Muhammad does not have the proper mode of credibility. Devine inspiration is not determined by the eyes of the reader.
English

@bluduck13 @seanryanlayton @deplorablerebi1 @emuse1955 You don’t think the content of a so-called demonically inspired book would be relevant?
English

@seanryanlayton @deplorablerebi1 @emuse1955 Why would the content of the book matter when talking about the books creation? do I need to read all the Harry Potter books before I can talk about the authors past before she wrote the books?
English

@deplorablerebi1 @emuse1955 I guess... yet if two parties were to have a debate about the Bible and its origins or inspiration, I would hope both parties would have read the book...
English

@ThoughtfulSaint @PopePiusIXStan have Muslims ban dark skinned people for most of its history and see how much they improve.
English

@PopePiusIXStan The data on Islam vs Christian societies and the connections to their teachings are clear.
Islam holds societies back
English

Yes Islam has good fruits. Islam has founded universities, hospitals, and preserved many ancient writings we still enjoy.
The average Muslim is very devout and nothing like the terrorists they are made out to be.
Thoughtful-Faith@ThoughtfulSaint
@JosephAlbrigo @emuse1955 Islam has good fruits? Have you been to the Middle East?

It's funny iRacing made the NASCAR Euro car able to race in the rain and then they put 12 straight weeks of no rain on the schedule

@kirkmckee13 @CopingSaw @CapturingChrist most of the ones I saw were personal attacks/spamming/adds nothing. not trying to attack you, and if you were timed out for posting that comment once it was wrong.
English

@bluduck13 @CopingSaw @CapturingChrist And I saw plenty of comments who were silenced that had nothing to do with personal attacks. I think we all know why
English

@RealRayza @MikeWingerii @YouVersion so if a translation is not made by Christian you say it’s not Christian?
English

@bluduck13 @MikeWingerii @YouVersion Once again, probably slowly, TPT is a Christian translation. Jehovah witness new world translation is not.
Big difference
