Although they are heavily impacted by what's going on, they are one of the few countries that seems to have tried to prepare for such a scenario. If they can maintain production, they stand to benefit massively from higher EV and renewables demand too, especially in Asia/Africa.

Was bedeutet das?
Trump kann den Sieg erklären, was für ihn zu Hause von Bedeutung ist. Seine Verbündeten am Golf wissen, dass, wenn es wieder losgeht, sie wieder vom Iran bombardiert und vom Welthandel abgeschnitten werden. Bis auf Saudi-Arabien und vielleicht die UAE gibt es dann einen guten Grund, sich mit dem Iran zu einigen. Dessen Forderung ist einfach: USA raus!
Ob es in zehn Jahren noch US-Basen in Kuwait, Bahrein und Katar gibt, ist heute weniger sicher als vor einer Woche.
Der Iran wird die Straße von Hormus einfach für sich in Anspruch nehmen und sie kontrollieren, wider alle internationalen Gesetze. Es wird ihn massiv stärken und den Westen schwächen. Gleichzeitig ist eine Stärkung des Irans eine Stärkung Russlands und Chinas.

Noch weniger im deutschen Interesse sollte sein, wenn der wichtigste Verbündete in diesem Krieg nicht siegt.
Der Preis der Solidarität wäre verhältnismäßig klein. Eine oder zwei Korvetten, zwei Minenjagdboote. Die deutsche Kapazität gegenüber Russland würde nicht relevant gefährdet.
Stattdessen scheinen Teile der deutschen Bevölkerung und Politik sich diebisch zu freuen, dass die Amerikaner unter Druck geraten, bei einem Versuch, einem der widerlichsten Regimes der Welt die Krallen zu ziehen und es möglicherweise zu stürzen.
Eine US-Niederlage am Golf ist inzwischen kein Ding der Unmöglichkeit mehr. Sie würde nicht nur die Machtbalance am Golf zulasten des Westens verschieben, sondern auch die Feinde des Westens ermutigen. Denn alles andere, als ein deutlicher Sieg über das Regime, ist effektiv eine Niederlage. Wenn das Regime kraftvoll übersteht und keine relevanten Zugeständnisse machen muss, erst recht keine, die seine Fähigkeit, die Straße von Hormus erneut zu sperren, einschränkt, ist es effektiv ein iranischer strategischer Sieg. Wenn im Herbst 2027 die Chinesen gegenüber Taiwan aktiv werden sollten, werden die aktuellen Ereignisse damit zu tun haben.
"They didn't even bother to send us one or two tiny ships when we needed them", wird es dann nicht nur unter MAGA-Leuten heißen.
Deutschland und Europa begehen einen schweren Fehler, wenn sie den USA nicht helfen.

Der Trotz, die Freude, dass jetzt endlich mal Trump mit der Realität konfrontiert wird, ist der realen Situation in Europa, Asien und am Golf nicht angemessen.
Meines Erachtens bewegen wir uns mit Siebenmeilenstiefeln in Richtung Katastrophe. Und die meisten Europäer applaudieren aus Häme.
Immerhin eine gute Sache: Panama ist dann sicher, wenn die USA nicht mitmachen.
Ich fühle mich einmal mehr wie Kassandra und hoffe inständig, dass ich vollkommen falsch liege. Hoffentlich klappt es ja dieses Mal.

Nehmen wir an, unser Fußballverein hat einen Starstürmer. Er schießt 95 % der Tore, er hat bislang für jeden unserer Siege dieser Saison geführt. Allerdings weiß er, dass er der Starstürmer ist, und blickt auf den Rest der Spieler herab. Er beleidigt sie mitunter öffentlich. Er fordert Teile ihres Gehaltes. Er macht untragbare Aussagen gegenüber den Spielerfrauen. Einem gegenüber hat er ernsthaft gesagt, dass er seine schöne Innenstadtwohnung bekommen sollte, ohne dafür zu bezahlen. Die Wahl ist, ihn rauszuwerfen und ab sofort jedes Spiel zu verlieren und mehrfach in Folge abzusteigen – oder so lange sein Verhalten zu ignorieren, bis er entweder 2029 zur Besinnung kommt oder die aktuell 8-jährigen Nachschubspieler für Ersatz sorgen. In einem Fußballverein, wo bei Niederlagen und Abstiegen das Geld verschwindet, die besseren Spieler gehen und Geld für die Jugendarbeit und die Gehälter fehlt, ist das bereits eine schwierige Entscheidung. Aber man kann Prinzipien reiten, es ist ja nur Fußball. Man kann auch den Starstürmer feuern und versuchen, von seinem Gehalt mehrere mittelmäßige Spieler zu bekommen, die die Lage wenigstens stabilisieren. In der politischen Realität bedeutet es allerdings, mit leeren Depots (für wie viele Tage gibt es aktuell Artilleriemunition oder Flugabwehrraketen?), praktisch nicht vorhandenen Reserven mangels Material, einem aggressiven Russland an der Ostflanke, einem aggressiven China (und Nordkorea) und einem dann womöglich gestärkten Iran zu sagen: "Dann lieber ohne die USA." Gut, manche wollen ja das Bündnis mit den USA mit einem mit Russland oder China ersetzen. Die finden die aktuelle Entwicklung dann natürlich gut. Kann man machen. Aber es kann halt Konsequenzen haben. Im Fußball kosten das Loben des Starspielers und ekelhafte Unterwürfigkeitsgesten ihm gegenüber die Würde. In der politischen Realität kostet das analog dazu womöglich Frieden und Leben. Was ist der Plan, wenn Trump 2027 Bündnisse nicht einhält? "Hätte er sowieso nicht" schlägt sich zumindest nicht ausreichend in der aktuellen Politik nieder. Ich möchte die Bundeswehr nicht 2027 mit Russland konfrontiert sehen - und auch nicht, wie 2027/28 China in Asien aggressiv wird. Der Weg, das zu verhindern, ist Einigkeit. Wenn man selber zu schwach ist, um sich ohne die USA zu behaupten, dann muss man a) sofort ERNSTHAFT daran arbeiten, das so schnell wie möglich zu ändern b) bis zu diesem Zeitpunkt gute Miene zum bösen Spiel machen Oder aber die Konsequenzen akzeptieren.

You want the NATO allies to join you in a war you started without ever consulting these allies about the war or explaining your war aims. We’re meant just to meekly fall in line.
You recently supported a US invasion of a NATO ally (Denmark/Greenland) but now you want these same allies to join your war.
Your president disparaged and misrepresented the role of NATO allies in Afghanistan. But now you want them to join with you again in a war of your making.
You went to war with Iran without a thought of how to keep the Strait of Hormuz open and without involving your allies in the matter. But now you want the NATO allies to bail you out, even though there’s still no plan for Hormuz.
You want the NATO allies to join you in a war in which you still cannot articulate the endgame. Or what victory would look like.
You went to war thinking the Iranian regime would quickly topple, that Tehran would not attack the Gulf States or close Hormuz. Why would we align with such Epic Stupidity?

The arrogance of our allies to suggest that Iran with a nuclear weapon is of little concern and that military action to stop the ayatollah from acquiring a nuclear bomb is our problem not theirs is beyond offensive. The European approach to containing the ayatollah’s nuclear ambitions have proven to be a miserable failure.
