@jennifersophiee Sevilla and Barcelona are also good because they are early in the season so you can focus a bit more on running in winter months when cycling less naturally anyway, then move onto tri training. Valencia is the next big tick in the box but it’s always December so not great for me

@butmightyginge Haha very true! And the money I’d save on not paying to fly my bike out can then be spent on extra post-race snacks. I think you might be on to something here 🤔

@jennifersophiee Nah not at all firstly Barcelona marathon is amazing, secondly we have done loads of races abroad as an excuse to travel. Sevilla marathon is awesome too, lovely temperature, Rotterdam and Amsterdam are also fab. Plus run only races need way less luggage than tris 😂

@butmightyginge I do quite fancy doing one somewhere cool like Barcelona just to have an excuse to go there… although then I’m like “Jenny, just go on a holiday to Barcelona you training-obsessed fool” 😂

@joannasbarlow @xcurlytwigx I just set myself little targets like - until mile 10 you can’t go faster than X - then until mile 20 you can’t faster than Y then (and genuinely said this) release the beast at 20 😂😂 Ps every marathon since has been far from that organised

@xcurlytwigx @joannasbarlow As it happens Manchester although not my fastest (PB at the time) was most definitely my strongest performance at marathon distance, stayed super restrained and had more to give at 20, very fond memories of that day
