China has cut Australia off for Jet A1 fuel (kerosene), all of next months shipments cancelled. Normally 12/month. There’s one ship inbound. That’s it. China is Australia’s largest Jet Fuel supplier.

Eu vou explicar devagarinho… 🤭 O excedente orçamental de 0,7% do PIB em 2025 foi alcançado à custa de dois mecanismos pouco virtuosos e repetidos ao longo dos anos, uma forte subexecução do investimento público e uma receita fiscal e contributiva superior ao previsto, que acabou por não traduzir uma verdadeira redução da carga fiscal prometida…🤷‍♂️ Em vez de executar os cerca de 12,7 mil milhões de euros de investimento previstos no Orçamento do Estado, o Governo ficou-se por pouco mais de 9,5 mil milhões , uma diferença de mais de 3 mil milhões de euros que inflacionou artificialmente o saldo. Esta incapacidade crónica de concretizar obras e projetos (visível em áreas como a Saúde ou infraestruturas) permite um “brilharete” imediato nas contas, mas adia investimentos necessários ao crescimento potencial da economia, perpetuando a baixa produtividade e a convergência lenta com a Europa. Ao mesmo tempo, a receita de impostos e contribuições sociais superou largamente as projeções, graças ao dinamismo do emprego e dos salários, mas sem que a carga fiscal efetiva tivesse descido de forma significativa como anunciado. A contenção adicional na despesa corrente ajudou, mas o padrão é o mesmo dos governos anteriores, o excedente surge mais pela incapacidade de gastar e pela boa conjuntura que engorda a receita do que por uma reforma estrutural profunda ou maior eficiência do Estado. Em suma, conseguiu-se o 0,7% não através de uma gestão exemplar ou de um salto de competitividade, mas sim sacrificando investimento futuro e contando com vento favorável na receita. É um resultado que melhora a dívida a curto prazo (para 89,7% do PIB), mas mascara fragilidades persistentes: baixa execução de capital e dependência de um crescimento que continua modesto. Um excedente assim não é sustentável nem transformador se continuar a assentar na subexecução sistemática….

The EU has become severed from humanity. ‘The EU’ now echoes like a grotesque, burlesque mantra — its positions harmful both to its citizens and to humanity

The wars in the Middle East and Ukraine are interlinked. With our G7 partners, we’ll discuss how to drive de-escalation in the Middle East, as the war's consequences are felt severly worldwide. At the same time, we can’t overlook Ukraine. Russia’s attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure are increasing every day. In my call today with President @Isaac_Herzog of Israel, I expressed the EU’s solidarity with the Israeli people in light of the daily attacks by Iran and Hezbollah. Such attacks must stop immediately. Amid the ongoing violence in the Middle East, I called for de-escalation and maximum restraint, the protection of civilians and civilian infrastructure, and full respect for international law by all parties. Only diplomacy can ensure a sustainable solution to Iran’s threats, including on the nuclear file. I also urge Israel to seize the moment for direct talks with Lebanon. Lebanese stability and territorial integrity must be preserved, and Israel must ensure the protection of civilians and civilian infrastructure. We also addressed the humanitarian situation in Gaza, which must urgently improve, as well as the need for Hamas’s disarmament. The situation in the West Bank is extremely worrying, and I urged action to address settler violence. There is an urgent need to de-escalate and end the violence, as well as to halt continued settlement expansion.

These signs have appeared near a military base in Fairford, where U.S. B-52H and B-1B warplanes have been regularly flying from, with the blessing of Keir Starmer, to bomb Iran.

National budget allocations are barely sufficient to cover training requirements, thus there is complete reliance on external assistance to redress the present situation. Tank ammunition is at 14% with an increase to 37% by end 1989, 155mm howitzer ammunition is planned to move from three to four days following an increment of 1,000 rounds next year. These appear to be the only improvements foreseen and as a consequence no change is to be expected to the current and projected critical ammunition posture of the 1st Brigade. The status of stocks of expendable and non-expendable supplies is no better. Only 11 out of 42 items of major equipment satisfy the 30 day operational stock requirement. Critical deficiencies are also reported for spare parts for some armoured vehicles."
