I’m sure PROJECT HAIL MARY is great, and this is not the movie’s fault… But I’m gonna need Ryan Gosling to take on more challenging roles soon. Seeing one of the greatest leading actors of my generation kind of coast for the past 10 years has been, frankly, disheartening.

People don’t long for the 90’s, they long for the “before social media” time. The 80’s, the 70’s, etc. All of it. Anything before we were constantly streamed every person’s thoughts, every negative news story that will get clicks.

The reason people long for the 90s, aside from the obvious nostalgia about how everything really was better, is that our existence was just so much calmer before all these crazy gadgets sped everything up. Our brains are not naturally meant to engage in such ways.
