@HorrorUntitled @MorePerfectUS Sure is! That'll be 90 billion dollars.

@MorePerfectUS Is this an actual screenshot of this lmao

@Swifter1243 @threejs Aw man you got me nostalgic for mid-2000's game console menus. I feel like I'm clearing my memory card. Great choice on the sounds.

It's actually worse. You can pay a service to rebuild a public repo in an effort to bypass licensing.

@FR3NKD DLSS is NVIDIA's performance/cost offset to sell less powerful hardware at higher prices.
A thin bullshit layer is applied to needlessly add detail while compromising the original art direction.
Someday, it will be impossible to run games without it.

Adobe became one of the most hostile, anti-creator monopolies under their leadership. Monthly subscriptions, cancellation fees, crazy anti-piracy measures, shoehorned AI features. Good riddance.

YouTube

@Selphares1 @TheMG3D It accelerates content farms, which was already a massive problem. Low effort, mass quantity video uploads, ad-revenue pennies. This makes it extremely difficult to find user-generated content. YouTube does not provide any means to filter videos like this.

@Spill_Eviction I liked RE9 but it wasn't what I thought it would be. I was expecting a larger emphasis on stalker horror, and the sequences we got were dumbed down compared to RE2:Remake's Mr. X.
Feels like they wanted to explore that more but pulled back during development imo.
English

@socpens Silly as it sounds, there was still a considerable amount of effort put into rushed movie shovelware compared to the mass produced asset flips we get now.
The nostalgia isn't that these games were good, but they were a special kind of bad.
English

as someone who makes a point to play old games they never got to try as a kid, 80% of them are better left unplayed. if you're lucky, sometimes, there's some truly remarkable moments sprinkled throughout some of the most mind numbing gameplay imaginable

I wish they would go back to making games like this

@RinoTheBouncer @gematsu I don't see "sony has made a series of extremely terrible decisions and tightening the belt as a result" being one of the reasons.
You can still "make" games sustainably. Chasing infinite growth however isn't sustainable. But sure, economic headwind, whatever that means.
English

STATEMENT: Hermen Hulst in closing down Bluepoint Games PlayStation studio🚀
“Rising development costs, slowed industry growth, changing player behavior, and broader economic headwinds are making it harder to build games sustainably.”
Thoughts?🤔

Pro tip: when making a video game, avoid implementing physics at all costs.

@corvianNoctis I don't think a tetanus shot is supposed to give you tetanus but I'm not a doctor.

@HorrorUntitled Sorry to hear that. Near the end of my last IT job I experienced my first panic attack. Thought I was having a heart attack, super scary. Hope you find a way to get some relief, shit sucks.

@ProudBavaria Todd is taking the bold strategy of "maybe people will forget we exist so we can hype up our next installment to a new generation of suckers lol."
English

I can't stress this enough:
A GENERATION will have passed between Morrowind/Oblivion and TESVI.
The developers, the tech, the fans - none of them are the same anymore.
TESVI is a REVIVAL of the series, not a continuation.
It'll be 2030 and it'll be very risky.

@ourmartyredlady I agree that there is a tendency to optimize in places where its antithetical to an existing design. Most players will never each 1200 hours and optimizing around that type of player shouldn't be a priority. They should do less complaining and more modding if it bothers them.
English

@Vuthakral You're never going to get away from this until people are willing to adopt decentralized software.
All centralized SaaS products are in the enshittification pipeline at varying stages of legalese.
If a system can't independently operate, everything else is marketing.
English

"we don't spy on them" ok here's your own privacy policy on exactly how you spy on people:

TeamSpeak@teamspeak
@Official_nKr nononooo, you have to realize that's the only thing people can say since we don't spy on them or sell their data and don't have 3 trillion dollars in funding. It's all my fault posting on twitter!!

@HorrorUntitled God damn there's some crazy prop work going on there too. Love the scattered kitchen junk.
