This is a masterclass in weaponized victimhood: using historical grievances as a shield to justify the current bullying of the international community. You cannot claim the moral high ground of a victim while actively functioning as the aggressor against global trade. By treating a vital international waterway as a private kill-switch, you aren't "resisting" anything—you are simply holding the world’s most vulnerable populations accountable for your own political frustrations. True victims don't hold the global economy for ransom; only aggressors do.

@DrNeilStone Unfortunately, a regime change seems unlikely in the short term.

CENTCOM says US forces will not impede freedom of navigation for vessels going to non-Iranian ports and that the blockade applies only to ships serving Iran directly.
Therein exactly lies the heart of the problem: exclusion. Freedom of navigation for all, but not for Iran — the coastal country to the Strait of Hormuz.
And then it expects Iran, which has sovereign rights over its territorial waters — now that it is, according to CENTCOM, excluded — just to give up to this discriminatory agenda and relinquish its rights? That cannot be the case.
Remember that it was the U.S. who turned the entire region, including the Strait of Hormuz, into a war zone and has provoked Iran to defend itself.
There is a much better alternative: you are thousands of miles away from home. Leave and permanently end your war of aggression against Iran in a guaranteed way, and let the region breathe.

@c_eiichi2 @IraninJapan Idiot, show where international laws guarantee passage through territorial waters.

The UK faces diesel and jet fuel shortages in under 3 weeks due to the Iran war disrupting crude oil flows through the Strait of Hormuz—the chokepoint for ~20% of global oil. Tankers aren't moving, cutting supplies for refining these products.
The UK is hit hardest in Europe: it shuttered most domestic refineries years ago (now <1m barrels/day capacity vs. demand), relying on imports (esp. from Kuwait/Middle East). Stocks are low, and alternatives can't ramp up fast enough for peak summer travel and logistics.
If the strait doesn't reopen soon, expect flight cuts, higher diesel prices, and supply chain strain starting May. (Per ACI Europe letter, IMF, Ryanair CEO, and FT reporting.)
