Story of how private equity turned UK care homes for vulnerable elderly people into cash machines.
Govt privatised care service. PE hiked prices, councils forced to pay.
PE loaded companies with debt, cut wages/staffing, asset-stripping, poor service

CARE HOME CASH MACHINE WHERE GRANDMA BECAME A REVENUE STREAM
Britain managed to turn old age into a private equity pitch deck. Not content with squeezing workers, utilities and housing, the dealmakers spotted one last dependable asset class: frightened elderly people with paid-off houses.
Suddenly care homes were not homes at all. They were “recession-proof investments”, which is a charming way of saying the customers keep arriving, rarely complain, and eventually die on schedule.
Four Seasons went from one converted hotel in Kirkcaldy to a financial circus passed around by bankers, insurers, hedge funds and offshore visionaries who know the price of everything and the value of absolutely nothing.
Debt piled up, rent schemes multiplied, the structure became so opaque it sounded less like a care provider and more like a tax avoidance seminar. Meanwhile staff were run ragged, corners were cut, and residents were treated like human ATMs with slippers.
That is the genius of modern capitalism. Buy the bed, sell the building, load the debt, blame the council, then act shocked when the whole thing collapses under the weight of its own greed.
Apparently even private equity eventually realised there is a slight tension between “maximising returns” and “keeping nan alive”.

@RDonaldson91 @drcjjackson Facts sneaking into a country doesn't make you an immigrant anymore than breaking into a house makes you a part of the family.

When I lock my doors at night,
it’s not because I hate the people outside…
It’s because I love the people inside.
That’s how borders should be viewed.
Protection isn’t hatred.
Security isn’t “racist”, and putting your own people first should never be controversial.
But somehow… we’ve been conditioned to think it is.
Society has been tricked into believing that common sense is something to be ashamed of.
It isn’t, it’s survival.

Ghana really is pulling a fast one aren’t they? First they got paid for all the slaves they sold (until Britain stopped them) and now they want to get paid compensation for the existence of slavery by the people who stopped them doing it.
Anybody in Parliament who even hints at “reparations” is in my mind a straight up traitor. I, a taxpayer, don’t owe foreign scammers a penny.

It was the English with common law. Most famous case 1772 Somerset v Stuart. Wilberforce was a good guy but it took 20 consecutive years to pass the abolition act even though the English declared slavery unlawful as far back as 1600 and early 1700 smith v brown was interesting Russian slave master.

I want to draw everyone’s attention to this horrific summary written by one of our very capable, eloquent and brave survivors Lee Cooper
Lee’s story shows clearly why victims/survivors no longer report their abuse to the police, because it simply retraumatises an already damaged individual again and again and again!
Lee had already been fighting alone for justice for years when he approached us @TMOFCharity The Maggie Oliver Foundation for help 3 years ago. He was desperate, he had given up, and quite understandably was so angry, disillusioned and horrified that despite his years of fighting @gmpolice Greater Manchester Police for justice for his abuse as a young child, they had still not arrested his abuser despite Lee telling them precisely where his abuser lived.
We became involved and fought his corner, escalating his case to senior officers and attending meetings to put pressure on them to act….. and within TWO DAYS they had located the abuser - exactly where Lee had said he was!
Since then there’s been delay after delay, countless mistakes but finally the abuser was charged!
Over a year ago the trial date came and went - abandoned by the court for various unjustified and unforgivable reasons!
Lee almost walked away then, so traumatised was he, even suicidal at times. But he decided to see it through until the rearranged trial date finally arrived again, yesterday!
And what happened?
Delayed again!
Until 2028!!!!!!!!!
Broken Britain clearly shown in just one case.
This is what we see time after time
And I must stress, Lee’s case is just one of many we are fighting. And this is Greater Manchester Police but the problems stretch throughout the whole of the uk, throughout the @CPSUK Crown Prosecution Service and courts (and I hasten to add it’s NOTHING to do with jury’s!!! That’s a total red herring!)
Victims are being routinely/almost always failed!
Our criminals are walking away Scott free
There’s a total Lack of investment
A lack of empathy
No therapy available even after 7 year waits
Sentences inadequate because prisons are full and falling down
It’s Totally horrific
Inhuman!
Criminal neglect of our country by successive governments
Shameful!
And Lee will carry the injustice he rightly feels today to the end of his days…..
And THIS is why I continue to shout loudly although it won’t help Lee as he tries to come to terms with his disgusting treatment and how our country has failed him since he was a little boy
😥😥
Here is @LeeCooper’s summary… he isn’t on X so this is shared from Linked In….
“Today the trial against my perpetrator was set to begin after a two year wait, and five years after I first reported to the police.
On Thursday I got a telephone call to tell me that the trial had been vacated four days out due to another case overrunning, meaning there are no available courtrooms at Minshull Street Crown Court in Manchester.
Over the weekend, I was asked to write a Victim Impact Statement and provide dates of unavailability for 2027, 2028, and 2029 so that the trial can be relisted at a “mention and fix” hearing today instead of proceeding to trial.
I have written and submitted my statement, and I have informed the CPS that if the trial is relisted for any date beyond 2026, then I will be withdrawing from the process.
I’ve written a this short essay explaining this decision that I hope will provide insight and clarity as to what may be perceived as a disappointing choice.
We will see what happens at the hearing today, I would very much like the trial to be re-listed for a date later this year. But anything beyond is more than I am willing to give. I hope my transparency on this journey has highlighted the horrific system in all its light.”

One of the best 3 minute videos you'll ever watch.
This is EXACTLY what happened in Canada over the last 20 years.
Melanie Phillips (ex-Guardian journalist) nails the left-wing wokeism takeover perfectly:
“Objective evidence was cast aside because it was too inconvenient. The very idea of reason and rationality was dismissed. All these ideologies — multiculturalism, lifestyle choice, deep green environmentalism, moral relativism — were utopian. They promised perfection. Anyone who brought facts against them wasn’t just wrong… they were evil.”
This was the blueprint for Trudeau’s Canada.
Result?
Mass immigration without integration = “racist” to question, even as crime and housing collapse
Climate hysteria = “denier” if you dare ask about the cost to families and jobs
Boys in girls’ sports and locker rooms = “transphobia” for stating basic biology
COVID mandates, speech laws, and freezing bank accounts = “misinformation” or “far-right” for anyone with common sense
Dissenters got smeared, cancelled, ostracized by the CBC, universities, and Liberal enforcers. Just like UK, facts became hate speech here. The left didn’t just ignore reality — they made disagreeing with their utopia the ultimate sin.
This video explains the deranged woke destruction of Canada under the Liberals. Watch it. Share it. Wake up.
Unacceptable Fact: Truth is now illegal in Carney's Canada.
Have you lived this exact nightmare? What’s the most insane example you’ve seen? Which sacred ideology do you think has done the most damage to our soceity?

One of our members replied to a post on Facebook, this is his words not mine.
"The level of ignorance by some of the people commenting is staggering, almost beyond comprehension. The fact that they don’t realise that their are protections in place, there for hundreds of years. They grant protections to your rights and freedoms that government cannot touch lest be charged with subversion of the English constitution. All versions of the Magna Carta, the act of Settlement, the Bill of Rights, the Declaration of Rights, the Charter of the Forest, the Parliaments act- etc. the Constitution uses words like “Forever” and “perpetuity”, that means things like jury trials are set in stone Rights in England 🏴. Governments are transitional so they can’t just change the constitution Willy nilly cos they fancy it! That is treason. But they continue to do this, constantly because they rely on your ignorance and lack of knowledge and understanding. All these documents are out there for all the world to see, but how can you look if you don’t know? Well, now you do… read the act of union 1706-7, that will wake you up!
Remember the term”Soviet” and “British” are the same. They remove the nationality of the four home nations! They are right when they say Britain 🇬🇧 doesn’t have a constitution, it doesn’t because it’s not a country, it’s a “unitary state”! England has common law (aka English law, Gods law), which covers Wales 🏴, Scotland 🏴 has Roman law (aka Napoleonic law, European 🇪🇺 law).
Regions are an EU construct, that’s why wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland are individually one single Region each and England has been divided into small feudal regions, they want to destroy the English common law then take the UK 🇬🇧 which would become on whole nation under EU law straight back into the EU! That would be curtains for the English constitution and the birthright and inheritance of the English people will be gone! England, gone! The nation that created the modern world and its civilisation gone!
Educate yourself on the constitution and see how you have been Robbed and Rinsed by the British since the 1800’s, slowly at first but now very fast! The communist regime and the Fabian society can’t hide in the shadows any longer, they have over played their hand and they can’t hide any longer! Join the “English constitution Society” and remember…
“The Constitution is the Solution”!
God Bless England ❤️🏴❤️ "
That is why we are an English family, a brotherhood! I'm proud of our team!

This Is Not Diversity. This Is Dominance.
Hundreds of Muslims gathered in Trafalgar Square on Monday evening to pray and break their Ramadan fast. The Adhan, the call to prayer, rang out across a national memorial built to commemorate Britain's naval victory at the Battle of Trafalgar, a battle fought to preserve this nation's independence and sovereignty, in the shadow of St Martin-in-the-Fields, one of London's most historic Christian churches. The declaration that there is no god but Allah and Muhammad is his messenger echoed across one of the most symbolically loaded public spaces in the country. The Mayor of London Sadiq Khan attended. The Prime Minister Keir Starmer applauded.
Nick Timothy said what millions thought but were too polite to say. Mass ritual prayer in public places is an act of domination. The Adhan, when called in a shared civic space, is by definition a declaration of exclusive religious truth in territory that belongs to everyone. That is not Islamophobia. It is theology. Trafalgar Square was not chosen by accident. It is chosen because it is the most symbolically resonant public space in Britain, and because the statement being made is precisely about whose space it is and whose it is becoming.
Starmer's response told us everything we need to know about the quality of his argument. He did not engage with Timothy's point. He reached immediately for Tommy Robinson, invoking a convicted criminal as a moral authority to condemn a former senior adviser to a Prime Minister. He compared the Trafalgar Square prayer to Diwali, Chanukah and Easter processions, knowing the equivalence is false. Diwali, Chanukah and the Passion are celebrations. They do not involve a declaration that there is no god but the god of the celebrants. The Adhan does. And Starmer knows it.
But Trafalgar Square is only the beginning of the picture. British cathedrals have been hosting iftar. Manchester Cathedral opened its doors for Ramadan prayers. It is technically against canon law to invite members of another religion to pray in front of a cathedral altar. The canon law was not enforced. Nobody was held accountable. Next Ramadan it will happen again, in other cathedrals, with renewed rounds of polite applause from the same bishops whose predecessors built the institutions now being used for the purpose.
In our schools, children are taken to mosques as part of RE programmes while nativity plays are cancelled for fear of causing offence. In our public spaces, the Adhan rings out while churches fall silent and close for lack of congregants. In our institutions, canon law is set aside to accommodate a faith tradition that has no reciprocal arrangement. Mosques in Britain are not opened for Christian worship during Easter or Christmas. The gesture runs in one direction only. It always does.
This is the slow Islamisation of Britain. Not by conquest. Not by conspiracy. But by incremental accommodation, each step individually defensible, cumulatively transformative. The school that cancels the nativity. The cathedral that hosts iftar. The Prime Minister who demands the sacking of anyone who names what is happening. The institutions that should defend the nation's Christian heritage are the first to abandon it. And the political class that should protect the public space treats those who object as the problem.
Timothy was right. The domination of public places is straight from the Islamist playbook. He was not suggesting every Muslim at Trafalgar Square is an Islamist. He was identifying the strategy. Shared civic spaces, national symbols, ancient institutions, they are not being seized. They are being offered, one accommodation at a time, by people who have either not read the Lebanon chapter or have decided not to care how it ends.
Starmer did not call for Timothy to be sacked because he was wrong. He called for it because he was right. And that is the most telling detail of all.

@thomsonchris @ScotNational Scotland became part of the United Kingdom through the Acts of Union in 1707, a political agreement joining the parliaments of Scotland and England to create Great Britain. This followed the 1603 "Union of the Crowns" when James VI of Scotland inherited the English throne.

Every football club on earth exists because of this island. 🇬🇧
Kings banned it. The richest schools in England claimed it. They wrote the rules and locked the gates.
Then the working class stole it back.
In 1850, Parliament passed the Factory Act. Work stopped at two on a Saturday. Working men had free time. And they chose football.
Churches formed clubs to keep men out of pubs: Aston Villa, Bolton, Everton.
Factories formed teams from their own workers: West Ham from the Thames Ironworks, Arsenal from a munitions factory.
The FA Cup Final. Blackburn Olympic: weavers, spinners, a plumber. They beat the Old Etonians 2-1. No private school team ever reached the final again.
Then British workers carried it everywhere they went ⚽🌍
Scottish miners in Spain founded its oldest club. A Nottingham lace trader gave Juventus their black and white stripes.
A butcher's son from the same city founded AC Milan. British railway workers in Uruguay named their team after Stephenson's Rocket.
Cornish miners founded Mexico's first football club. A schoolteacher from Kent taught the game to his students in Argentina. His school produced Lionel Messi.
A boy from Southampton brought two footballs to Brazil. They call him the father of Brazilian football.
Real Madrid are said to wear white because of an English amateur team.
From Lancashire cotton mills to every continent on earth.
Three and a half billion people watch football. The most popular sport ever created. And it was created here. By the British people.
Every Saturday, three o'clock. That kickoff time exists because of the Factory Act of 1850. The moment working men were given an afternoon off.
They chose football. And the world followed.
