@JamesMelville This literally exists already in many places; I'm a member of a car-sharing co-op in my neighborhood. We share 8 cars and are purchasing more. It works well, makes economic and environmental sense, helps reduce traffic, and keeps parking available wijzijndeel.nl

This is insane. She completely ignores the fact that people are not going to use their neighbour’s car and that a neighbour is not going to let anyone else use their car. That’s the problem with nonsense like this - it never takes into account basic human nature.

Teaching my first class this term, I dealt with a Dutch white woman student whose disrespect I was forced to tolerate for months. This person would roll her eyes at me in every class, gossip about me in Dutch, make comments about my face and hair, and question my qualifications.

A friend sent this @dailyfreepress article from 1985 during the Silber administration--some things never change!

I'm proud to be an alum of @BU_Tweets thanks to the excellent faculty, classmates, and friends I had there in spite of the the administration. I hope things will change with a new president, but given the past trajectory I'm not optimistic.

He should have been proud of, or at least not chastised and patronized, students for using their freedom of speech to protest, as has long been a tradition at college campuses. 12/12

POV: You are the outgoing president of a large university who is out of touch with your students, faculty, and staff. President Brown has, unsurprisingly, missed the mark with this one. I'll address a few of his points below.
