One thing I love about returning to my native Midwest after long is walking my brother's dog. This is me and Gracie, my old pal. She's a feisty 16 (112 in dog years). I want to be her in my old age, still yapping at dogs thrice my size and jogging when a treat is in sight.

My new essay on Kwame Nkrumah’s intervention in the Ogaden question is out now. It explores how his engagement with Somalia and mediation in the Ethio-Somali dispute revealed the limits of Pan-African solidarity. Read it here (open access): 🇸🇴🇬🇭🇪🇹 link.springer.com/chapter/10.100…

My new research paper examines Somalia’s post-HIPC reforms and the clash between global AML/CFT standards and local remittance systems. 📎 A critical read on risk, regulation & resilience. 🔗 hilin.org/pub/post-hipc-… #Somalia #Remittances #HIPC #FinancialRegulation #AML #CFT

This is a very interesting paper on the financial regulation reforms and their implications in Somalia. Very few texts exist in this area, and this is indeed a major contribution. Congratulations to @musegeellejrhilin.org/pub/post-hipc-…
