If you examine Senator Lucas's proposed language, you will notice that Tier 1 veterans would be excluded. Under VMSDEP, Tier 1 is defined as veterans who are rated by the USDVA as totally and permanently disabled or at least 90% permanently disabled due to military service, and who meet the domiciliary requirement as defined in the Code of Virginia § 23.1-608. The author of the article highlighted, with facts and figures, that women and minorities predominantly fall under this Tier. Military Sexual Trauma (MST) conditions, which many women and minorities suffer from due to their military service, would be included in this category. Consequently, this proposal would disproportionately affect women and minorities. Senator Lucas, who claims to advocate for these groups, is not acting in their best interest with this bill. In some perspectives, this could be seen as enacting unfair measures against a marginalized group of people.

@NickJFreitas While the comment regarding women not fully allowed in combat roles until 2016 is true, the argument implying they had less opportunities to see combat during deployments is completely inaccurate. Repeal the changes. Flawed logic doesn't equal sound governance.

For a long time, I’ve tried to figure out if something is wrong with me because I don’t have a lifetime friends group or even one friend at all. I have “life phase” friend groups. Groups that I intensely hang out with and then never see/talk to again when the next chapter starts.
