This is outrageous and inhumane! For a marriage to be lawful, both parties must have the mental capacity to consent and must do so willingly. Does this person seem like someone able to give consent to marriage? There are a lot of underserved groups in Nigeria, and this is just an example of how terrible their lives are.

Ill-informed, uneducated, and embarrassing bunch of men. You feel so much sympathy for him but not for the person who will marry him? Do they realize that this person does not have the capacity to give consent to sex, talk more of a marriage? Isn't all of this against his fundamental human rights? He should be put in a mental institution, and placed on treatment that suppresses his urges amongst other things. This is 2026 fgs!

People are marrying and getting married everyday. Women are having kids, surrogating or simply adopting everyday. The trend you see online is only a small faction of what's actually happening in the real world. There has never been a time in history when single unmarried and elderly women did not exist; many, by choice.

20 years from now, there will be a surge of aging women, alone and unhappy, led down by the illusion they once embraced as empowerment. It's on the way, and it will be massive.
