Roxy Music: Angel Eyes (1979). Returning after a four year break the band polish up a disco number from their album Manifesto. The video is by Bill Stewart, best known for directing 'Protect And Survive' - the nuclear war information film released by the UK government in 1976. The original album version of Angel Eyes is harder edged, but the remixed single and 12 inch are much more polished and dance friendly. Gary Tibbs plays bass on this one, before joining Adam and the Ants in 1981.

On St Patrick's Day, I salute Jim Higgins.
Jim joined Blues from Dundalk in 1949 & scored 14 goals in 56 games over four years. He was capped by Ireland (v Argentina) whilst at Blues.
Dying at the age of 95, I THINK he remains the longest living player in our history.

@NewcastleCC Hi, our blue bins in NE2 haven't been collected since 4th February- is there a known problem? I reported the previous missed collection using the online form but didn't get a response. Residents need to know if the team will collect on another day this week?

Why I’ve read @PrivateEyeNews since I was 15. I got my copy on Tuesday, Andrew arrested Thursday. Inside it reminds us it raised concerns in 2009 about Mandelson discussing affairs of state with Epstein and a news item on Charles saying he would assist police with their enquiries. All for £2.99

#OnThisDay 1973: Nationwide’s Phil Tibenham took a coach tour of Spennymoor in County Durham. Plans were afoot to make the town a destination for Spanish tourists. Attractions included the allotments and a showcase of local cuisine from stottie cakes to tripe and onions.

@northumbriana The doorman at The Mayfair were such stricter on dress pants and shoes than they were on proof of age.
