the recent gaming4hope "drama" has been one of the ugliest overwatch community moments I've seen in years. His YT comments, twitter replies, etc. are just swamped with people calling him fat, bald, ugly, and worse, and I've been pretty disappointed with even friends of mine ganging up on the guy just because his pie in the sky dream is essentially unachievable. As long as his wife and kids are happy (ironically the reason he won't go pro is because he's scheduling too much time with them), who cares? If people were actually concerned about his family, then even an armchair psychologist would know this wouldn't work, and additionally it takes an unbelievable amount of hubris to know what his family's situation really is. I've seen some people justify it for some political tweets they don't agree with, but this kind of stuff has been going off and on for a long time, with or without that justification. It's essentially schoolyard bullying to somebody that the class finds weird or unconventionally attractive. Nobody's perfect, certainly not me, but it's cruel to see the nonstop harassment he's been receiving. I checked his YT/Twitter replies this morning, and was really disappointed with what I found. We can do better guys. You can be direct and honest with your criticisms, but we can do so much better.
