@DerekPederson3 Don't care. If I wanted to do research on lithium batteries or silage or something, I had to include a broader impact statement about how I would reach out to Indian reservations and center marginalized voices. STEM people never spoke up. They can get bent now.

I talked to my sister who is in grad school in genetics and she told me that they have had to learn how to rewrite all of their grant applications so as to exclude words like “barriers” or “equality” even if it is 100% politically irrelevant (e.g. “barrier cells”).
