@DJSnM Clearly you didn’t brush up on what they were testing before this post. They strategically removed heat shield panels throughout the outside of the ship to test how it reacts. Also new panel spots with cooling technology which is new, also for testing.

Given that this is disrupting aircraft downrange, I would be wanting an investigation before I let starship fly again.
I'd want to know what kind of debris risk we're dealing with, starship is big and designed to handle reentry.
Is the explosion the result of a tank failure or the FTS? We might reasonably ask whether trying to destroy such a large object is the best option in an emergency or whether it's safer to let it come down in as few pieces as possible.

@dronelaws DJI did away with these in the EU last year. You can take off in an authorisation zone without having to submit a flysafe application. Just tap an on-screen checkbox and go. The logic behind this decision makes no sense. dji.com/se/newsroom/ne…

DJI's geofencing system is based on FAA and ICAO principles concerning collision risk in the departure and arrival paths from each runway. Based on the heat maps in the WSJ article, it seems the drones are staying away from these high-risk areas. Here's the geofencing at LAX:

@JasperEllens It’s bound to be the only way to get true vertical framing, the ball will be able to rotate 90 degrees. Ugly but hard to manage this any other way with a triple camera.

When I take a peak behind the (fire)wall of China I see multiple Chinese users agree: DJI drones are getting a bit 'ugly' these days.
The #Mavic4 -just like the DJI Flip- isn't a very streamlined design. Will all drones be designed with function over form? I hope not. Cheers

@UAVHive Someone is bound to want to stir up some local news with their drone at night and a phone camera. Nothing wrong with preventative measures. I just hope that they put some effort in to actually enforce this if someone ignores it.

Morning Folks. Good advice here. In addition to this General Offence 8 of Article 265B of the Air Navigation Order states it is an offence to fly close to or inside areas where an emergency response effort is ongoing.
