The Iryna Zarutska mural thing shocks me. I don’t know why, particularly after the attempted assassination of Trump and the murder of Charlie Kirk, and more importantly their reactions. But it feels like a new low. I would love nothing more than for our current political madness to end, but it’s clearer every day half the country has no interest in such a thing. Perhaps the tribe is superior to the nation after all. I’m pretty sure people in the Amazon don’t deal with this level of internal division. In fact if this keeps up that’s exactly where we are headed: to our most primitive selves, and all the nastiness that implies.

MUST WATCH. Video from 2014 of then Lieutenant Governor Gavin Newsom speaking honestly about the California high-speed rail project. Newsom: "The facts seem overwhelming that this project is not going to materialize in our lifetime." Newsom admitted that they manipulated revenue projections to get support for the project and that they used federal funding that was not intended for high-speed rail to advance the project. Newsom also claimed that if actual analysis were done, the project would be killed. As Governor, Newsom has spent years selling the project to Californians by using the same lies that he once criticized. It appears that Newsom has known for over a decade how this project would turn out. Why did he continue to push this disaster on Californians? Weeks ago Newsom celebrated the project's success, even though no track has been installed. The current estimated completion time for the entire project is approximately 20 years from now. Last year Newsom sued the Trump Admin for withholding funding for the project.
