More lawyer AI misuse: In appellate brief, counsel cited 9 cases, 6 of them "cited either for nonexistent quotations or propositions of law not attributable to them." Counsel admitted that gAI "was used as a research and drafting aid, and quotations and legal propositions were not independently verified ...." Court: "Using generative artificial intelligence to generate legal briefs and then simply cite-checking them bears no resemblance to the competent practice of law." "Law is a profession. ... A person who uses generative artificial intelligence in lieu of reading, writing, and talking about the law—the very processes by which a lawyer acquires and retains the specialized knowledge and skills required of the professions—risks losing claim to the title of lawyer." Sanctions: $8,044.25 in attorneys' fees.

This is how hackers steal your account. I get an email, that looks official from what looks like an "official" X account (appeal63-x@appealitem-x.com). I click on the link - and it takes me to what appears to be an official page with a complaint and a image of a post, with a suspension and a note stating I can appeal, by clicking on the link. It then wants my password to continue. This is all VERY professionally done. Mimicking the real process for X. I do not put in my password, but immediately go to grok and verify that this is a bogus email and website site address. If I had fallen for it - my account would now be controlled by who knows and I would be locked out. Be careful out there folks.
