@scaling_shields If reality was an order book, thats how it goes. Sellers sometimes sell for below market prices because sometimes they need to quickly liquidate assets. The onus is on the seller and in this day and age it takes 2 sec to look up market prices.

theres a cash for gold shop on a side street in dublin that clears €540,000 a year - peeling signage - single guy behind bulletproof glass - no queue or advertising - one scratched window sticker that says "we pay top prices" thousands of people walk past every day who assume its dying its been there 17 years i went in last year asking about a chain a family member left me he offered me €180 i knew the scrap value was €520 that morning i asked him how that isnt just theft he shrugged "i tell them what ill pay. they say yes. they walk out happy because they came in expecting nothing and left with €180. to them thats a win. to me thats €340 of margin. nobody has ever come back to complain" "why dont people check the market rate before they come in" he laughed "because people dont price inherited assets as wealth. they price them as surprise. and surprise money sells for 30% below value every time" "what kind of customers walk in" "divorces. estates. people clearing out a dead relatives house. people who found a box in the attic while moving. never people who bought the gold themselves. never people who saved for it. always people for whom the gold feels like found money" "is that deliberate targeting" "i dont choose who walks in. grandma dies and the jewelry ends up here within 6 months. the whole country fills the pipeline for me" the numbers: - 17 years running - 35% below spot price on average - €540,000 in clean margin last year - 4 hours average time gold spends in his possession - one shop - one man - zero returning customers inherited wealth leaves the family at 30% below market every single time he just waits at the exit

@EO_Halloran @RayPearson1717 Dealing with condescending stupidity tends to do that. Woke climate is over anyway. Bill Gates has pivoted. The fuel crisis, energy insecurity and high demand for AI compute will force the narrative away. In addition, politics is shifting to the right and it’s not on the agenda.

@computer_spirit @RayPearson1717 You aren't stating physics here. These are just emotions. You started this off with a y-axis that went up to 100°C And the planet won't disappear. Extreme weather events mean living here will become worse. Not very difficult to understand tbh

@EO_Halloran @RayPearson1717 Eh…the planet is still here and it’s still doing fine. Keep worrying about 0.04% of the atmosphere…I am on the side of physics but you seem to assume that all scientists hold the same opinion. You are not meant to turn science into religious dogma which the climate folk have.

@computer_spirit @RayPearson1717 Yes what happened after every single one of those incidents? Disasters Climate change caused by human pollution is upsetting the balance that will lead to more extreme weather events and disasters I'm sorry if this makes you upset to hear but physics doesn't care about emotions

@EO_Halloran @RayPearson1717 Yea very delicate, 4.5 billion years of tectonic plate shifts, volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, pole reverses, meteorite, asteroid, comet strikes, ice ages, tsunamis and solar flares. You woke people are fucking insufferable.

@computer_spirit @RayPearson1717 Its ok you can play dumb if you want, physics and biology don't have a habit of caring The Earths system is delicately balanced, like a humans system, and changing the temperature a small amount can create massive side effects, like a human

@EO_Halloran @RayPearson1717 So if you were to be fair and compare it to something that’s an inanimate system, let’s a say a space craft. Do you think a 1 degree change in a spacecraft would affect everything? You are pure hysterical,

@computer_spirit @RayPearson1717 Its a system. The planet itself won't be hurt in any way but the system that allows life to exist will be hurt and thus everything that requires that system to live will be impacted Just like how raising a humans core body temperature impacts everything that lives in that system

@EO_Halloran @RayPearson1717 A planet isn’t a life form. It’s an inanimate thing so to compare it to a life form that can die isn’t appropriate.

@computer_spirit @RayPearson1717 Just because the scale is different doesn't mean the principle changes. The outcome for humans is we get sick and die, the Earths outcome is more extreme weather events for humans and a destabilisation of habitats for other life forms Both are bad

@EO_Halloran @RayPearson1717 Explain how the temperature of the planet moving by 1 degree has to do with raising your core temperature, when the temperature of the planet varies in different parts?

@computer_spirit @RayPearson1717 Yes the average temperature of your core body temperature needs to be around 37°C otherwise you're fucked The reason why you're getting frustrated is because you know this makes obvious sense. This nitpicking to ignore how whole systems work is silly

@JakeFitzsimons Exactly. Irish emigration was mostly within the west. Non westerners are moving to the west which is not the same.

@EO_Halloran @RayPearson1717 Cool so the average temperature between any cold surface and any hot surface means something. Right got it. The average temperature between my fridge and my cooker means something. Yea sure. Trust the experts. Smart man. You’re simply a useful idiot for the globalists.

@computer_spirit @RayPearson1717 Yes I'll delegate to people who understood the first thing they'll do is standardise data collection to not corrupt data Yes different parts of the globe have different temperatures. That's why we use global averages

@EO_Halloran @RayPearson1717 Yes ok, delegate to “the smartest people in the world” and throw out any common sense. 2 degrees change on the body? Do you know the variance of temperature between the equator and poles? Have you ever heard of Siberia and the permafrost? “Perma” for good reason.

@computer_spirit @RayPearson1717 Because the margin of error isn't off by an unusable amount. Smartest people in the world have already accounted for this decades ago And if so then 2°C core body temperature increase is negligible by the standard. Does that mean 2°C body temperature increase is completely safe?

SHOCKING: 14-year-old black kid STOMPS 15-year-old white girls HEAD INTO THE CONCRETE for saying NO to his phone number! And NYC's WOKE family court will likely just give him a tap on the wrist! Listen up, America. This is what Democrat-run cities create: fatherless savages with zero consequences. A 14-year-old thug in East Harlem demands a 15-year-old white girl’s phone number, then slams her to the ground and stomps her HEAD when she says no. She’s concussed in the hospital. He heads to family court for a likely slap on the wrist. This isn’t kids being kids, it’s feral violence enabled by soft-on-crime policies that protect the predator, not the victim. Lock these animals up. Stop the coddling. Enough. Patriots, what are we doing about this?

@EO_Halloran @RayPearson1717 So if we use ice core sampling for legacy temperature then wouldn’t using modern equipment be more sensitive thus making the result off by a factor? If it isn’t off then why use modern sensors at all? I use the chart like that to zoom out and highlight 1 degree is negligible.

@computer_spirit @RayPearson1717 Ice core sampling lets us measure global temperatures going back 1000s of years And why would you use a y axis like that? Do you think if a humans body temperature raised by 2°C they'd be fine if you compared it to a 100°C chart?
