The outlook is bleak. The only possible silver lining is if the federal government enacts the major reforms it should’ve years ago. Taxation, regulation, industrial relations, immigration and education all play a role. We need to reduce demand and input costs, and increase supply capacity and competition to offset embedded domestic inflation and global price shocks.
