The derisking will hit many by surprise
Structurally bearish for all of 2026 nobody has a remotely close idea of what will happen this year especially crypto ppl who as always never cease to amaze with the most awful macro takes.

“No plans to send troops” isn’t reassuring because it’s pretty clear there was no plan that got us here in the first place.

TRUMP HAS NO PLANS TO SEND TROOPS INTO IRAN, WHITE HOUSE SAYS A White House official said Trump has “no plans” to deploy troops to Iran despite new troop movements and reports of a possible Kharg Island blockade. The official added the U.S. military could “take out Kharg Island at any time” but is keeping options open and not revealing strategy.

My outlook for 2026 now is super bearish
I retract my over excitement of early February dip buying. Btw I sold that stuff all of it around the current levels but before the war i think mid February.
Stay a trader stay short term for now. Sure long as much as you like and make profit, gg profit is profit. But stay short term oriented for now. Take your freaking profits and run.

@DerivativesDon What's the solution then? Rate cuts? Stimulus?
I have noticed from your previous posts that you're expecting rate hikes, which you think are a policy error, but would that mean cutting is the correct approach?

Yes, the supply shock has to play out, but it may not have to go beyond the initial shock before it plays out and aggregate demand gets clobbered
If consumers are already tapped out and can’t or won’t dis-save anymore it doesn’t matter whether or not downstream suppliers raise prices, Aggregate Demand will drop on gasoline prices alone.
We survive that, then suppliers likely try to pass on downstream input costs. But they may never have that chance before aggregate demand falls.
Airlines seem to be of the mindset that their customers won’t be able to support the current level of demand. Let’s see what others do.
A lot of game theory involved for suppliers knowing aggregate demand is at risk. Other businesses don’t raise their prices, then consumers may be able to afford my price increases. We all raise a little bit and we share in the pain. I don’t raise at all and maybe I will lose less demand than you (see McDonald’s PRICE CUT on value meals).
